Ha, I was just dropping by to post that! The description doesn't do it justice by half, here's the video: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x37iqy9_benedict-cumberbatch-kristen-bell-and-jeff-bridges-read-mean-tweets-on-jimmy-kimmel_tv

The hair makes me think it wasn't filmed recently....

No, it couldn't have been filmed recently because he's completely tied down to London with Hamlet.  So I think it might have been done before baby Cumberbatch arrived, maybe even just after the Oscars.

Looked it up on IMDb.  Apparently it was 22 Feb, 2015.  The episode was titled "After The Oscars".

...and the a-hole who wrote it had his day of fame. Am I the only person on the planet that thinks this is a totally wrong way to handle such stuff?

Depends.  If it'd been something truly horrendous -- any sort of threat, for example -- I'd agree.  But said a-hole was merely expressing his/her opinion.

Loved Cumberbatch's response.  (I'd never before seen a ring finger used in quite that way.)

I have but not necessarily to a comment like what Benedict received.

Could be, although he's wearing a different jacket on the one they broadcast Monday night. Hair and shirt look about right, tho.

Unfortunately, my browser does not support video playback.  (Since when?  )

Dear sweet Carol, apparently since you stick with Microsoft! Even my two-year-old mini iPad could open it!

Me and my ancient browser have that trouble with certain videos, but this one played for me ... maybe just a glitch on your end?

And now I will take the Batch's advice and go jump into night painting! Never done it before, have no idea what I'm getting into...... Laterz!

Nope, not Microsoft!  (I may be crazy, but not that crazy!)  I use Firefox (albeit on Windows).  Maybe I'm one rev behind what Twitter is currently supporting?  (Their videos used to work for me.)

I'm a Google Chrome convert.  I've had the fewest issues with it vs. Firefox or IE.  Although, I haven't tried the new Edge browser with Windows 10 yet.

I have one thing on my website that isn't working in Chrome but does in Firefox.  Go figure.  and I had to download Firefox because my son didn't have it on his computer.

I'll have to ask Alex (again) whether he's changed anything recently.  Or maybe try it on my other computer in the morning.  (This one has already been rebooted, with no change.)

Wonder whether he's supposed to play Edison or Westinghouse?

Thanks, Jenny -- Collider finally said the magic word: "respectively."

I don't offhand recall hearing much about that site -- is it "a reliable source"?

I have heard from a gossip site that this project has been bantered about for some time with BC's name attached, although today was the first I've heard of it.  Presumably, if it's a real thing, it would begin shooting after Sherlock, unless he's got some other projects lined up first.

There were several at one point, weren't there? Yellow Birds and the Muybridge one are the only two that come to mind at the moment, but I haven't heard them mentioned in ages.

Those two are an interesting pairing, as I think of Gyllenhaal mostly being in he-man action movies.
