so tonight I was trying to look up which movie or whatever I was going to be watching Saturday night.  I forgot what it was, what time it was airing on Saturday, and what channel it was on (for all I know it was going to be on demand).  As I was doing that, I saw Sherlock listed on the screen (and proceeded to post it on the forum) totally forgetting I had already pushed for Saturday's line-up to show. And I had my sister flip the TV to the correct station for Sherlock so I could watch it when I got home.  (I think the meeting I had tonight fried my brain even though it was shorter than normal.)

Bad news:  i had to go to the doctor today...

Good news: it allows me to tell my favourite Dr story!

Sometime  ago I visited the doctor's.

Now I'd been lucky in the sense, they'd squeezed me in on an emergency appointment with one of the registrar doctors.

She was super, so when I came out of the consultation I went up to the receptionist and asked what the drs name was, so i could write it down.

She said : Of course, it's Dr Watson, J Watson...I had to suppress a chortle.

Anyway I saw her again today, she's lovely!

... when you have the following conversation with your better half:

Me: "Don't you ever cut off those curls. It's bad enough about Sherlock."

Him: "Wait - they changed his hair? You mean I now actually have an advantage over that bastard?"

Me: "Apart from being real, you mean..."

Him: "With you, I'm not quite sure whether that's an advantage or not."

TOBY, das ist doch nicht wahr ! I meant to say, you are much luckier than most of us, because that repartee is the best humour possible, and in my acquaintance and circle of friends and relatives, the men are so earnest and serious, I am practically green with envy! You lucky thing!

I still want to get one of those SHERLOCKED t-shirts but I'm afraid it would be a spoiler to my neighbors who are just starting to watch it.  Darn it.

On the Sherlocked thing...

I had an experience of that.

My son's girlfriend is a Sherlock fan and she hadn't seen S2 at the time.

So we all sat down together to start watching it. I looked down and suddenly realised I was sitting with ' I am Sherlocked ' emblazened across my chest!

Of course as soon as we got to that scene she smiled and said: oh now your tshirt makes sense.

She said she had looked at it and wondered but not once while watching SIB had it dawned on her.

The very first time I watched Scandal and saw him holding that famous "camera phone" in his hand in her flat, right after he had correctly input her measurements to open that safe, I wanted to scream at the screen, "It's 'Sherlocked' you insufferable, egotistic, self-entered manipulative so-and-so, four digit passcode and she has just shown her complete vulnerability by coming so close to you that your nose was practically level with her breasts! Think, instead of trying to show off in front of John and getting beaten and drugged for your pains! "

But then the whole thing would have been over, right there, right then, so what would they have done with the remaining time, gone off on a holiday together? Not allowed, like the rules in Cluedo.

When you are trying to decide which to watch: at 8pm CST is Fifth Estate (the movie I was trying to look up 2 days ago that is on Showtime East) or HOB at 9:30pm CST on PBS Masterpiece Mystery.  Then there's the possibility staying up way too late and watching Fifth Estate on Showtime West at 11CST right after HOB. (It's fun living in the middle of the USA.)

I own Fifth Estate and can watch it any time...Two copies of it actually (don't ask).  I want to watch something BC tonight but feel like action/adventure... so it will probably be STID. Somehow that acronym sounds like a sexually transmitted disease.

I watched that movie last night on demand and yes it does sound like a disease.  I decided t watch Midsomer Murders followed by HOB then Fifth Estate.  Hopefully my local PBS station will correct its audio/video sync problem.  The audio is ahead of the video.

I know, my brain always stalls momentarily when I read that.

When you are hungry but you do not want to get up to grab something to eat because you can't pause the version of HOB you're watching on TV and don't want to miss anything (at the John trapped in the lab scene).

Just got done with Fifth Estate. May watch STID again tomorrow or Monday.

*I think we have just showed our love for Benedict's acting ability along with a good story line.*

Except I didn't really care for The Fifth Estate.  I will give it a 2nd go and see if my opinion has changed.
