Old movies times in his 'home theater'?

He serves cakes, plum puddings and low tar cigarette.

Then both of them would watch surveillance of Sherlock and John.

And to close the night, they would be giggling together on the bed, under the blanket and..... updating wikipedia.

I'd never imagined that 'updating wikipedia' could sound so filthy. Bravo.

Is that the upper class version of 'Netflix and chill'? ;)

My thoughts on their potential date: high class restaurant where Mycroft doesn't even need to make a reservation, he shows up (and depending on how often he frequents it) they show him and Lady Smallwood to a private table without him even having to give his name. If things go well, they go back to his place for some older movies and drinks. If he's a proper gentleman, he won't bed her until much later in the relationship (technically after the "I Do's" unless under duress).

I do think he would be a proper gentleman. I'm curious what he would wear. Usually one dresses up on a date, but how could Mycroft get more dressed up?

Nah, they're both people of the world, I don't think they would sleep together on a first date but I doubt they'd take long. It's not even clear if it's actually just the 'bedding' part Lady S is offering. ;)

Is Lady Smallwood really that saucy?!

I do think Mycroft is a man of the world in most respects, but there is still room for a little bit of the Holmes social cluelessness- I can't believe a woman asked him out for a drink and his response was 'of what?'

And whilst browsing Ariana Devere's transcripts I read that Lady Smallwood is a former gymnast!! So that will be nice for them.

Is she saucy? Who knows? Maybe.

Mycroft I don't know, can't get a handle on him at all. We know he thinks of people as goldfish but it seems unlikely both he and Sherlock are so inept at that side of things. Maybe he's an insatiable beast behind closed doors.  :naughty: I doubt it, but still...

A gymnast, huh? Lucky Mycroft, lol.

Wait..wait..wait, whaaaatttt? :D

So you are saying when Moriaty sent him Jumbo jet. Dear me, Mr. Holmes. Dear me,

After the stressful facepalm he then went and looked for Lady Smallwood (wait, she was not available although we never know :naughty:) or Vivian Norbury?

:D :D :D

On unrelated note, had it been discussed before; I think Mycroft knows a thing or two about fencing, based on the stance when he was holding umbrella sword. But I could be really wrong, know nothing about fencing.

Mycroft and Norbury?! Ewww.

I can see him taking her on a fencing date, actually.. Sounds like fun.

No to Norbury! Mycroft can do better, sorry.

I wonder how Sherlock would feel about accidentally discovering Mycroft and Lady Smallwood canoodling. I think there would be a lot of buffering..

Eurgh. Maybe her unrequited love for him after their night of passion was what turned her bad. :P

There must be quite an age gap between Mycroft and Lady S, maybe he lusted from afar when he was young and working his way up the ladder.

Yup, yup, I can see the love triangle going on beneath the surface. It was Norbury's jealousy over Mycroft's feelings for Lady S that lead to her using the love/amp code name when betraying AGRA.

Buffering followed by running and screaming until John finds him rocking in the corner of his room catatonic,

Good God.

What have I done. :o

Regarding Sherlock: he would forget that he has a brother as well.

I can imagine Mycroft having some dangerous exes, but I hope Norbury is not one of them. Perhaps he's been abstaining from romance for the sake of law and order, not wanting to cause another woman to snap and turn bad?

It seems like Lady Smallwood and Mycroft must have been friends for a long time. she must have had a hard time in her marriage, with her husbands's affair with the underage girl. Maybe Mycroft was there for her? Not that I see him as a shoulder to cry on type exactly, but I can see him being a good friend and support, and that being what made her see him differently.

From the movies he watches, I think he might like a femme fatale.

How unselfish of him!

Oh ho ho, another soapy situation.

Because yet she chose to confide with his brother.. :P

Maybe Sherlock would try to delete the incident and then suffer horrific faceless nightmares he doesn't know the source of for the rest of his life.

Every woman who's ever gone bad in the UK is because of Mycroft cruelly discarding them or failing to fully return their affections. He's the sole reason we have women's prisons here. He's responsible for quite a few abroad too.

I feel bad for the women in question. They just can't help getting trapped beneath Mycroft's umbrella of love.

Maybe he doesn't dress up more, but instead goes the opposite - ditches the tie, loosens up a tad and even gets a little down and scruffy...Example below lol

I'm a bit conflicted at finding that last one sexy.

Agreed.  And Mycroft is definitely the "wait til marriage" type; he would just naturally show a lady that much respect.

This made me LOL.  Yes, it's important that Mycroft might get to (finally) be with a woman who has maintained a great deal of physical flexibility.  The honeymoon is going to be a blast!

I don't see him as the wait until marriage type at all! I only see that type as the highly religious, which I can't see him being. Besides, if he was also a virgin, assuming he hadn't been married, I doubt he would be so sneery at Sherlock for being 'alarmed by sex.'

Posted

I can see why some might say he'd want to wait because sometimes Mycroft seems to me like he wishes he was from another time (maybe ACD's?), with his house full of antiques and love of vintage film. I can imagine him believing in chlvalry.

Though, more to the point, would Lady Smallwood be okay with waiting? She might feel like she's not getting any younger and would rather have him right now. :naughty:

I IMDB'ed it, and there are sixteen years between them (assuming they are the same age as their actors) I thought there would be more. So in this case, posh boy likes the older lady.

Lady S seems like a woman who knows her mind and knows what she wants... which is Mycroft. So I'll join you in the eyebrow waggling.  :naughty:
