I would but I'd be worried about someone coming up next to me and me not knowing - interaction without the forewarning of seeing them coming is even worse!

It's annoying when you request a callback and then you're scared to put your phone down so walk around clutching it all day.

I don't even know if it'll be today. 😐

I've had people say they'd call me right back -- and it wasn't till the following afternoon.  There's only so long that you can put off going to the bathroom.

At least with a mobile you can take it into the bathroom with you.

Yeesh, how hot was it? I'm a wimp, I can't take much heat.

Yeah, but it can still be awkward.

Over 37 Celsius. And ONLY 29 inside, which is not that bad for an attic. I'm even too lazy to go in the garden. hot2.gif Tomorrow shall be a bit warmer.

Oh god yea, that's way too hot for me!

That reminds me of my childhood without air conditioning (parents have only had it for 14 years). Only our house’s indoor temperature was similar to or warmer than outside (my parents’ house was like a giant greenhouse).

Gngh.

When it's hot here it's cool in my house, I think it must be like a cave. My office on the other hand is a nightmare. Last week bits of the country got to 38, but not here, I think I'm too near the coast so we just had low temperature and cloud. I should probably be glad though, I get to het up to function when it's that hot. Have you had any of the big thunderstorms that have been crossing Europe? My flooded kitchen aside it has cleared the air and made things fresher.

AKA 100 F.

Hey, it doesn't *get* that hot in the UK!!!

It's not supposed to get that hot in Northern Germany either... Yet that's the forecast for today. Grumble.

It doesn't normally get that hot, we were having a freak heatwave.

This morning was forecast sun. In Swansea we had another EPIC storm - I went out the back garden to scoop stray leaves off the drain in the hope it'll protect my kitchen from another flood, and despite wearing a coat I got soaked to the bone in seconds. Drove to work, which is twenty miles away, blue skies and sunshine. What the f**k? I luckily had a spare pair of trousers to change into but my bra, knickers and t-shirt are all wet and clinging to me. :(

And we're in for another week of rain.

You mean warm shower from the sky. ;)

We are in for another week of dryness and heat. With local storms and hail and possible floodings because the soil has dried into concrete. I've seen rain at the morning it was very local and far away. Another day I have seen a rainbow with no rain visible at all. This is the longest hot period I remember. It feels like it started in April ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My day started out ok; then I started my car. My Prius is officially considered dead. Sherlock’s description of Moriarty making a nice work of the Boiler seemed to describe my car as we have no idea when the engine would blow, just that it would and I’m 5 hours from home attending the funeral of a longtime (essentially my entire life) family friend. Then, once my sister and I finally start to head home, we get sidelined by severe weather. I’m ready for the nap I can’t take as it’s too close to bedtime without being close enough to actually go to bed.

What did you do normally? Calling an emergency service for a tow?

I had just started driving car, well, only on weekend because I still find it unnecessary and impractical for work. I also, well, try to avoid letting people know because of exactly six reasons :P. Anyway, it's enjoyable so far. It's so comfortable inside when it's hot and raining, and now I don't need to strategize about how much I can carry when I do grocery shopping. And I have packed a backpack full of necessity so that the car remains neat, which bring me to question to you guys long time driver. Like Pseud, do you just put spare trouser in your car and not the rest, so you just happen to have it at work? And Camper, do you have 'necessary tool' for emergency?

What kind of stuff you put in your car?

For motorcycle, we carry our 'emergency kit' around especially raincoat, sometimes spare shirt and sock. Some big bike doesn't have storage except for simple tools so I only put tiny bottle of wax and cloth and parking coupon, the rest I'd carry in my backpack but not much, mostly about how to deal with weather.

Now, for car, my emergency backpack include quite a lot of stuff; slippers, spare T-shirt, towel, mosquito repellent, sunblock, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, vaseline, windbreaker. And over the top survival kits; torches, screw drivers, space blanket, tools, swiss knife, flint, paracord, compas, foldable bowl, poncho, safety pin, food clip, cable tie, plastic bag and couple of things I don't remember now. All these fit into small backpack and tug neatly under passenger chair. Of course there are first aid kit, and as per today I'm adding nicely pouch unsuspecting fold-able baton on driver side door and a hidden brass knuckle. (my baseball bat doesn't fit!). Except vaccum and brush,  I don't put car washing stuff inside.

There are tools that comes with the car and I had learned how to change tire (although haven't put it in practice) but I haven't added other tools yet.

My cars tend to fill with junk over time so I'm making an effort to keep this one organised because it's tiny. In my boot (trunk) I have a small fold out organiser box to help keep things neat.

My hiking boots and backpack live in one part, because the bag has a lot of essentials in it - hoody, snacks, rain coat, etc. The next section is my car stuff; screen wash, tyre gauge, a big bottle of water (for me or the car). Third section is essentials; asthma pump, painkillers, torch etc. I also have my exercise stuff in there, for if I fancy going to a class or going for a run after work (though I did my hip in so haven't been able to run for ages so should really take it out). The thing that is taking up the most space is something I bought recently because I've had a lot of trouble with my battery dying, even though it's new, so I bought a portable jump starter so if I get stranded somewhere I don't need to hope someone drives by to jump start me.

In the winter I also carry a thin thermal blanket, in case I break down somewhere, and a thick coat.

I don't have any weapons in the car since I live in a fairly safe area. My brother used to drive around with a machete under the seat. 😮

Other than my hoody I don't usually carry spare clothes, I was lucky that on that one day I decided to shove a pair of shorts in my bag in case it got hot.

Bad luck on the car Camper, sounds like you had a real nightmare trying to get back.

Jump start sounds like a good preparation. I don't have the problem for now, but if possible it's something I'd like to learn. My car is a compact 4 seater and the back seat is currently occupied with my dog 'container', just a seat cover for dog actually. He doesn't seem to like car, although he is well behaved he likes to grumble and look at me as if protesting about our new mode of transportation (kids nowadays! You work and work to make them more comfortable....) but since we had that container he has big enough space to get comfortable. It also help to reduce the need to clean especially if we play in the beach; most hair and sand are contained.

Thankfully I also live in safe area now but I guess old habit doesn't die easily.
