Hello! I'm not dead, obviously. Just been busy. I got a letter from an art college near where I live and have been working hard on my art piece for the exhibition.  :D

Do we get to see it?

If you're not supposed to share till after the exhibition, Bendy -- or if you need the time to do justice to your project -- we'll try to be patient!  :)

Where is everyone?  Really, really quiet today.

Where is everyone? Really, really quiet today.

I was at a homeschool conference the last 3 days. My legs hate me since I had to be dressed up and mostly standing 2 of those days but I got to reconnect with some classmates from uni & help a lady deal with the unexpected loss of a mama goat that wasn't going to survive after the birth of its kid. (Never thought I would be doing that last 1 at a conference).

This place always feels quieter on the weekends.

Apparently real life at home is harder to ignore than real life at work!

 On weekends, either I have to work so much I have hardly any time to spare for being online, or I don't have to work and then I try to be a family member... Thank goodness it's the latter right now. But I told my husband "I have to do mod stuff now" and he said okay, fifteen minutes. I'll remember that excuse for the future! :D

 My jeans have vanished. Poof - gone. All of them, except for one really old pair left over from my brief days of glory as a slender girl that I won't even attempt to squeeze into these days. The case of the missing jeans - fascinating. I know the washing machine likes to eat socks but I can hardly believe it would swallow three pairs of denim pants.

Thank goodness I like skirts and have plenty of them, and it's spring anyway. But the whole thing is odd. I wonder what Sherlock would say if he got a request of "find out what happened to my jeans". I suspect he'd treat that with a lot more contempt than even poor little Kirstie's quest to find Bluebell...

Who needs jeans anyway when they have a new scarf with flowers on it and little extra flowers embroidered around the edge. Scarves are a lot cheaper than trousers and they always fit. I think I buy scarves the way other women buy shoes.

Scarves are a lot more comfortable than shoes, too!  How do you wear yours?

I'm still wondering what happened to my favorite dress a few decades ago.  It wouldn't have fit any of my friends, so they're off the hook.  All I can figure is that I decided to have it dry-cleaned and then forgot to pick it up later -- which sounds more like something I'd do now.

Sorry I can't help find your jeans.  Hopefully they'll turn up soon, and you'll say, "Oh, right, that's where I put them!"

My son's clothes like to do that on occasion as well. I do usually end up finding the missing items even if it takes a few weeks.

 I think my problem is going back and forth between homes so much. My parents, my husband (who lives in the city he works in - long distance marriage...), my husband's family members... whenever I get time off from work I'm usually traveling to some place or other to see those I love. I guess the jeans got lost along the way. Only nobody has seen them. They've vanished.

Carol, I wear scarves any old way. They are extremely versatile and can be very comforting - you can snuggle your chin into them or wrap them around your shoulders and its the second best thing to a person near you. I like giving them away, too. I tell the people who receive them "if you don't want to wear it, you can use it as a table runner - or get it out the next time you have to pack something perishable."

Do you ever wear it as a simple old-fashioned tied-under-the-chin headscarf?  I was starting to think that Her Royal Majesty and I were the only two women in the universe who still liked them, but a Google image search turned up a few recent instances of fashion models wearing headscarves, and this article says they're making a comeback.

Quite frankly, I rarely wear scarves as a fashion statement (though I do like to coordinate the colors).  I'm more into comfort, and a headscarf is so convenient, especially when I'm away from home.  I can start out wearing it in the morning, and if the day gets warmer I just fold it up and keep it in my pocket, ready to put on if the weather turns chilly again or if the wind tries to give me an earache.  But if you want to call it "retro chic," I won't complain!

There's a terrific storm going on outside my windows. I can't see a thing because the rain is so thick and it's as dark as night. Good thing I get to stay home today, it's quite cozy in my bed... If you don't hear from me for a while, you can assume I've been forced to build an arc and am hopelessly lost on the sea that once was my flooded town...

A friend shoved this under my nose. Quite funny, I'd say :D

My result is;

Khan

You’d best ask Scottie to beam you up! You’ve been paired

with the bossiest of all Benedict Cumberbatch characters:

Khan from Star Trek Into Darkness. What have you done to

deserve this? You are a sassy, demanding (in a good way)

and powerful individual and you need someone who can

keep up with your face-paced lifestyle. Khan is perfect for

that. Khan is very passionate, bossy, and the perfect bad

boy. Don’t be jealous when he is seen advantageously

flirting with other women at the bar, don’t worry he’ll always

come back to his family. (oh, wait…).

What is yours? ^^
