Series 4 News

[Arcadia]

Maybe I'll just skip S4. I barely survived the end of S3.

"Estranged from his best friend John Watson, Sherlock seems to have descended into hell."

So, we're going to work in the estrangement that pops up in so many of the Sherlock Holmes versions. (Can't quite remember if ACD had them end "estranged" or just apart, but certainly "Mr. Holmes" did.)

[besleybean]

Lord.

Still, estrangement is canonical.

[Inge l-w]

Yep! But if Mr Moffat, the Lying Scot, sticks to the ACD plot line, the two friends need to appear estranged in order to entrap Culverton Smith. Mayhap the scene is the one in the trailer where he once more has a go at Sherlock, real or feigned.

Oh, wow -- I'm dreading that with great anticipation! :D

Dear smpfco, remember when Joanneta asked you a what-if Baby Watson question, and you started the thread which then spawned SherlockedCamper's zany project with your Sheralyn? Now, it's about to erupt on all our screens, although they went for a far more pedestrian name! I liked your choice better!

And there are 4 promo pictures from China that are causing the next gravitational wave. Look close. Closer!

Why is there a "W" on the violin in the last picture?

[J.P.]

Good question.

Watson?

The funny thing is that these photos might be unathorized

It looks like a Tarot Card. Wheel of Fortune.

 Poor Chinese fans then, speculating about nothing, probably...

The beginning of a monogram, WSSH?

Not only Chinese.

That's what I was thinking.

Well, the Dutch have had a better idea and on m.youtube zicco posted a Q&A for the creators. Mark Gatiss won, but Steven Moffat claimed to be the better ACD fan, to which the answer is what General McAuliffe telegraphed to Von Mannstein at Bastogne:'Nuts'!!! or B%#%*%#*, if you prefer!

[sfmpco]

A bit of fun.  Not sure exactly where to put it.

[Inge l-w]

Yep! That's the Dutch ad! Thanks sfmpco! Happy New Year, better health and lots of fun watching S4!

[Fantasy Lover]

I love that they correct the interviewer XD

[Boton]

Hey, guys.  Didn't know where else to put this, but seeing as it's Friday afternoon, I'm logging off for my own little S4 hiatus.  I kinda wanted to say so because I look forward to "seeing" you guys most weeks, and I probably won't for a while if my resolve holds firm.

I found that I really benefited from watching TAB multiple times with little fandom input before immersing myself in others' analysis; it just helped me consider what my own true impressions were, and it also helped me appreciate others' interpretations once I read them.  So, I'm going to try to stay off here and probably out of anything S4 related on AO3 (including comments of other fics, just in case).

Not that you would want to, but if anyone wants to say something to me particularly, you can DM me on this site (I'll get the notification) or email me at my Boton221@aol.com address.  Enjoy the season!  Shock blankets at the ready!

We'll miss you! Looking forward to your return. I am avoiding spoilers this time round so I won't log on after the first episode airs until I have had a chance to see it. With The Abominable Bride, Amazon was mercifully fast with a streaming offer so I hope they will do the same here.

[J.P.]

You can just log in with closed eyes!

Because you will miss us. :D

[Carol the Dabbler]

I won't be on the S4 threads after TST airs in the UK, but I may still visit other parts of the forum, if y'all are keeping the spoilers where they belong. That worked pretty well for me last time -- only this time I won't have television access when the episodes air here, so I may not be able to watch till we get our DVD, though I hope to see them sooner than that.

I agree with Boton, though -- I want to digest all three episodes pretty thoroughly before I discuss any of them.

[J.P.]

I think the episode will be on the BBC website for a while to watch online. TAB was.

and her is Mark telling nothing but enjoying it immensely.
