I would love to have one of those organizers.  Seriously.  We need more cat places in our house -- maybe not quite *that* many, but we could see which cubbies the cats favor and then use the rest for books.

Then they would start favoring the ones with the books in them. :D

Or, even better, the ones with breakables.

Have you guys cat owners tried the trick with box drawing and cucumber?

Anyway, the highlight of my day is, I outran a fat dog twice, and then being tricked and outran by another not so fat dog. I'm in the rush so the story is about it.

That sounds vaguely familiar -- could you elaborate a bit?

I know cats are known to be terrified of cucumbers but I'm not sure about the box drawing...

I'm pretty sure somebody posted about the box drawing a few months ago, like cats treat it like an actual box in some ways.  But I don't recall the details.

As for cucumbers, is that intact cucumbers?  'Cause I had two kittens who *loved* sliced cucumbers.  They'd snitch 'em off the table and eat 'em.

Yep, intact ones. There are loads of vids on Youtube of them freaking out. Ha, I've never heard of kitties loving sliced cucumbers

I've seen a video of a dog (small dog) who thought a drawn box was an insurmountable barrier. I can't imagine a cat giving a flying fig.

What I’ve seen is that cats will sit inside a drawn square as if it were a real box.

The video was too long to watch the whole thing, but one thing caught my ear: "cats avoid snakes at all costs." Errrr, no they don't. I've had cats that loved to catch and play with snakes. Little ones, of course, but even the really big one who used to live under the front step was a source of fascination, not fear. For the cat. I had rather less positive feelings about it myself, especially one time when I thought it was the hose and started to pick it up. Gah.

Anyway, I am bemused but not amused by those cucumber videos, because the cat is obviously frightened and I don't find purposely scaring animals to be funny.

Those two girls loved anything in the melon family.  I've got pictures of them eating watermelon.

I'm very disappointed that it's not those fat dogs you were asking about.

Person thoughts:

”Awww big boy, so fluffy, so big, good boy!”

Wolf thoughts:

2nd pic: “I wonder if I could fit her whole head in my mouth.”

3rd pic: “I’ll try it later.  First more pets.”

I wasn't going to mention it but those photos were found on a blood flecked camera found abandoned in the middle of a forest. The lady was never seen again.
