Anton, Anton, Anton! (Germanspeak for alert, sorry! ) This Sunday on BBC One Benedict stars in his own company's production of Ian McEwan's bestseller The Child in time, starts 9:00 BST and runs for one and a half hours. There was already a BAFTA screening, and it was well received!

New interview, not read it yet but some pretty cool photos. Plus he's being interviewed by Thom Yorke, which is cool in it's own right.

The full photos are here, they seem to have been cropped down in the online article. I love the style of these, so different.

I don't know, it's like he's channeling a cross between the younger versions of Rod Stewart and Iggy Pop. Can't decide if I like it or not.

I think that's why I like it because it's quite retro.

Retro as in they're still from the past, not a revived trend, right? I hope so, I don't think I could bear to live through those fashions again!

Yep, I don't think you'll be forced back into 'em anytime soon. I have to admit I'd quite taken with some bits though.

Yep. That eyepatch takes about 10 years off him....

My favorite musician has done similar to how Benedict is described in that link. Don't think he's had to deal with the crushing. But he did once have a CD pushed in front of him while he was talking with a special needs kid. He looked down long enough to see where to sign before continuing the conversation with the kid.

When celebrities are like that, it just makes them that much cooler than they were before.

The paparazzi photos that make me uncomfortable are when they take photos of people with their babies, and you can see the actor/actress looking hunted. That must be horrible, leave people's kids out of it.

OTOH, I don't always trust the reaction of the celeb. I saw a picture years ago of some celeb or other, and they were doing the whole "hey, don't take pictures of my kid" thing, and it turned out they were on a beach that is known to be a place to go to let paparazzi "catch" the celebs and take "candid" shots of the families. So sometimes I really don't trust the photos to be an honest reaction.

That said, I don't really want to see the celeb's kids anyway, not that they aren't cute, but because they deserve their privacy no matter what their parents do.  Same thing for politicians' kids; leave 'em alone until they are legally adults and/or they decide to get involved in politics themselves.

You can often tell by the type of celeb too. But I mean the ones who don't really seem to like having their photos taken anyway, there's one of BC walking along with his son in his arms looking a bit harried.

And you know, it might be heresy around here, but I'm not completely convinced that he's as private as he wants people to believe. I mean, I think he wants to protect his kids, so who knows what was going on in that moment, but I think that being photographed with them is part of his whole husband/father angle that he wants to promote as much as he does anything else.  But that might just be me.

*gasp*

You're probably right though, I think a lot of successful actors are successful because they play the various little games necessary to make them popular and bankable.

It's Mr. Napkinhead!

Yay, JP, you found one that will actually play! I've been trying for days but they've all been blocked.

I have no idea how I'm going to get to see this, but I want to. Although I hope Patrick knows an adjective other than f*ck or it's going to get pretty tiresome.......
