Very interesting!  I've often wondered how I could be an introvert (even though tests nearly always peg me that way) if I'm talkative and enjoy (the right kind of) parties (meaning one consisting mostly of conversation, rather than music, dancing, games, and other "noise").  After reading that, I am comfortable calling myself an introvert.  Thanks for posting it!

Interesting.  I'm an INTP and my husband is an INTJ, so I read both of those.  Most of those points do sound like us -- but I'm the methodical one!  (Which drives Alex nuts.)

I agree that introverted does not necessarily mean shy, but when I was younger, I was excessively shy to the point where my family and I wondered how I was ever going to manage life as an adult. I worked on that with such spectacular success that now, I am often perceived as rather forward and loud, but the truth is I am still shy. Which leads to some funny misunderstandings and to people not knowing what to make of my behavior. For example, I will go to great lengths to avoid having to speak to a stranger on the phone and I am very creative in coming up with excuses for not attending parties and other social occasions. Before I leave my apartment, I check through the keyhole that the hallway is clear because I don't want to have to say hello to my neighbors. However, when forced to interact, I speak eloquently without hesitation and in a loud, clear voice. So these days, people think I am rude instead of introverted. :-D

Like you Toby, I'm a shy introvert. Unlike you, I don't check outside before leaving just to avoid people. However, I will avoid people if I don't feel like talking & I attempt to push things under the rug trying to avoid conflict. I mostly dislike making phone calls to strangers. Give me email please & I will still dawdle if it's something I'm nervous about.

You don't have to be painfully shy to hate making phone calls!  It may actually be more of an introvert thing.  I will gladly phone anyone that I actually want to talk with, but anything else -- let's just say that unless I'm in a certain mood, I can and will defer it as long as possible.  Email is far better, but even then I can be deterred by an awkward situation, even something as innocuous as feeling that I really ought to reply but can't think of anything significant to say.

 This is cute. It doesn't recommend the only type of game I really like for me, though, which is point and click adventures. They're the only kind of computer game I'm good at and can get really into. I like other games as a spectator, though, especially those with a strong story. I remember sitting there mesmerized as a friend of mine played Beyond Two Souls, for example. (She let me make all the choices. It was really fun.)

It's accurate. Too bad no time for those time-consuming-sleep-depriving-old-fashioned strategy games anymore.

My friend sent me this and question his safety for hanging out with me.

Fellow INTJs.. it seems like we don't have the best reputation in society.

(Go to dark corner and poke, poke, poke. Shadow, get out from your corner! You are getting moldy there!)

I don't think any of us have a very good reputation, according to that!

The sad part is my natural inquisitive self could almost be classified as a stalker to anyone who doesn't remotely know how my brain works. (I can tell you a lot about my favorite musician like some fans talk about Benedict only I'm not hyper-obsessing as many of them would be)

Seems like the safest type to have as a friend would be an isfp.  (Though they might be a wee bit boring.)

Yes indeed -- where is Shadow Dweller?

I know what you mean.  I'm kind of a mental magpie myself (though I now hear that magpies aren't really like that, so maybe I should say "mental packrat" -- though that doesn't alliterate).  Sherlock would be appalled by all the miscellany heaped in my brain!

Same here.  "Ordinary people fill their heads with all kinds of rubbish, and that makes it hard to get at the stuff that matters." applies so much even with my high IQ.

Hacker or murderer? (I'm still stuck in the middle between P and J)

I'm too much of a coward for a hacker (until you mean hacking household appliances or computer keyboards to look what's inside and if I can fix them), and planned murder... nah... if I was like that, I would have done it already (was seriously wishing someone a sudden death, but it took a lot to bring me to that point) I could rather imagine pushing someone down the stairs in rage...  innocent-1.gif

I'm definitely a P -- but that just means I'm torn between hacker and drug dealer!  Though I must admit that my skill set leans more toward hacker....

As much as I'm INFP, I'm low enough on the NFP that I could be anything the I's are known for so that could be kind of scary.

Is it better or worse that my tests give me one option only, murder?...

I have no business sense, I'd be a terrible drug dealer. Hacker it is. Off now to post viral pictures of Sherlock on all my friend's computers.

Then please take $0.01 from every bank accounts and send it to me.

I want a million dollar to invest on a device that could blow Donald Trump's toupee away and make him stop talking. :P

Shoot, now I wish I was a hacker! If I had a million dollars I would give it to you right now for that very reason.

Warning, potentially offensive-to-some political opinion/rant:

Does the rest of the world cringe as much as I do every time that pompous, ignorant fool opens his mouth? I'm so embarrassed for my country...we had so much opportunity eight years ago, but nooooo, the conservatives had to crush that by any means possible, and now they've devolved into this...  I really thought the far right couldn't sink any lower, yet here we are ...

Yes, I wasn't aware that he is THAT ignorant.

But don't worry, only idiots think that he represents Americans.

However, the sad thing is, there are always some people who believe that he is right.

Hey, this is a free country!  There's no law against pompous, ignorant fools running for president.  I guess I'm glad of that.  I mean, I'd hate to live in a country where it actually was illegal to be obnoxious.  On the other hand, it might be a relief -- as long as the committee in charge agreed with me as to what constitutes obnoxious....

Okay, I actually don't mind anyone running .... but anyone who supports someone like that should be locked up in the funny farm... KIDDING! I KID! Honest! Really! Just because I'm wearing this straightjacket doesn't mean I'm not sincere......
