I suppose so. That's why she got so mad and clunked our heads together when we thought she is merely 100.

Luckily she's too old to read this, so we're safe this time.

All day being in the presence of people who talk, talk and talk. Despite no hard physical exercise today I still feel like being put through a wringer. Tired now but this forum's siren song is too hard to resist.

I know.

It's like the sound of ice cream van while I'm lactose intolerant.

Anyway, my competitive side and introvert side are always in constant battle everytime someone says 'go big or go home.'

Those idiots, what's wrong with going home anyway? :p

That someone apparently forgot which era we are at right now. :P

Arcadia, are you more than 100 years old?

You should know that a lady is sensitive about her age, especially someone as old as Arcadia. Don't worry Arcadia, you don't look a day over 94 ;).

Carol, this forum is corrupting our youth. What are we going to do about it?

I must be sleepy -- trying to decide whether you're talking about personal youth (yours and mine) or the youth (as in young whippersnappers) of our world. Think you must mean the latter, since I don't feel that this forum has corrupted my own personal youth in the slightest.

I agree, the whippersnappers are getting kinda uppity. But how could that be due to this fine upstanding forum? And besides, weren't we all uppity young whippersnappers at one point?

My inclination is to just let 'em go ahead and whippersnap. Then one of these days they'll look back on their misspent youth and beg our forgiveness.

Hmph. Seems unnecessarily indulgent to me, but since you are ... ahem ... far more "experienced" than I ... 35o46Bs.gif

Are you saying that Carol is older than you?

Summer, the time when sunlight becomes too harsh for me and temperature could reach only several degrees lower than healthy human body's. Result, tempers runs short and I snapped to someone who dare to pour scented fabric softener into washing machine where my clothes were also being processed. Forcefully stopped the sequence, spin-dry the whole load then restarted the whole process again from the beginning. I hates the flowery-sweet scent these kind of products always imbue to fabric.

*scratches head* are you from Australia? Because as far as I know, everywhere else it's autumn.

Tough day. Not that anything particular happened. I've been in an even-worse-than-usual depressive funk for about the last month, and I haven't been able to pull out of it. It's sapping every bit of energy from my body. I'm exhausted constantly, as if I'm pushing a car uphill, or I've got a boulder on my shoulders, pushing me down. I'm feeling especially useless today, because I've got so many chores to do, but I can't manage to muster the energy to do them. In fact all I managed was one load of laundry, and laundry's the easiest of everything. I'm wiped. (Even writing this post is taking far longer than it should.)

But enough about that. A few updates since I've been gone that I never got around to posting about:

In August I went to Nebraska to see the total solar eclipse. It was my first one, so that was pretty neat. I wish it had lasted longer so I could have taken it in more. The weather threatened to be overcast and rainy, but I travelled west at top speed and luckily ended up with partly cloudy skies instead.

Around the same time, my ex-fiancé got very angry with me again and it was kind of the end of the end between us. I think it's settled now, but it's been hard. He said some things that really hurt and I won't soon forget. I'm very sad about it, I still miss him and care about him. It's difficult for me to stop that once I start, even if I've been mistreated. I never really do completely. Once someone's in my heart, I think they're there forever.

What else... After I got back from the eclipse, I got a mosquito bite on my left eyebrow, and my entire eye swelled shut for about a week. So that sucked, lol.

That's about all the boring news I've got, lol. Thanks for listening.

Shadow, I hate that stuff too! Mom gave me some sheets that she had already washed with softener, and I can still smell a little of that scent on them, even after washing them several times.

I guess you and I are the weird ones, but I just want my clothes to smell clean -- meaning not smell like much of anything.

Oi. Never rains but it pours, eh? I think it says good things about you that people stay in your heart, though. It might be hard for you, but we funny old hoomans can use all the caring people we can get, methinks. Don't think it diminishes you to care, in spite of what Mycroft says. :P

I don't find that weird, I just want my wash to smell ... clean! (Not a big fan of perfume, either. I have a lousy sense of smell, though, so I doubt if it troubles me the way it does you ladies.)

Maybe that's why Mom could tolerate the fabric-softener odor. Daddy always joked that Mom "didn't smell very good" (meaning she's always had a poor sense of smell). I apparently take after Daddy.

Awww man that sucks, big hug to you. If it makes you feel better, my weekend was a bit of a let down: I visited my grandparents for the weekend which resulted in three days of nagging, criticising my outfit and eating potatoes (I have gained a hatred for them due having to eat them on my school for 8 years straight T_T.) Even worse, they insisted to buy new shoes and a new coat for me (If I hate something more than shopping, it's shopping with other people, especially relatives) and accompanied me to buy them (I'm 23 for crying out loud, I can shop alone, just give me some money in an envelope or something) and because we took the public service and my grandmother isn't familiar with it she started questioning everything! Whether we were at the right bus stop, whether we we were on time, why it took so long and whether we took the right bus (Welcome to the public traffic) I've been taking the public traffic for 10 years, I know when and where I should take my bus.

Not exactly. But I do live around there right now. Biggest enemies are high temperature and mosquitoes.

nod-skype-smiley.gif Besides personal preference about what kind of scents I like, that vile stuff also always ruined any non-complimentary perfume. The same reason I cannot stand most perfumes made for women, the cloying sweetness (for my olfactory sense at least) often means headache and nausea.

Come to think about it, my actual problem could be the sweet scent instead of the floral. Vanilla especially, it is good on baked stuff but definitely not in perfume. I remember of automatically covering my nose each time entering a room with vanilla-scented perfume dispenser.

:O Surely such a thing is impossible?!

God I hate Mondays, especially when I had Friday off and come in to find that bugger all has been done in my absence.
