It was not me! It was that stupid tablet that hates me!

The journey home was a kind of... not a big nightmare but a chain of small ones. Came late, only to be woken up by a heavy thunderstorm like at 5 AM, so I'm hungover.gif

And I'm at work already asking myself WTF I'm doing here. So Furlock with me. But I have some bits of background INFORMATION hapydancsmil.gif (not about S4 though).

ETA: Hmmm... wondering why my last post is dated yesterday. I've definitely sent it from Excel. The journey was another kind of hell.

Yesterday was a perfect day....except for the evening......

You have to know that I study far from home, so I live in a big flat, ruled by some nuns, with other 22 girls (I have my own room, but the kitchen is in common).

Last year I met a girl called Maria Chiara and we became great friends. Unfortunately we had a very bad discussion and we never made peace. I admit that at firs I tried to talk to her, but she wasn't very nice with me, then I tried to avoid her, because I was so angry. Then she moved and, since then, I have never seen her (and don't want to see her anymore, to be honest).

Yesterday evening, a new girl came to the house. She was so nice and we met each other. Then, she said her name was Maria Chiara. MARIA CHIARA.

I'm persecuted. Oh yes. Karma is punishing me. Help. :axe:

Would it help if I said that in some countries my first name would be Maria too? :D Karma did not punish you since I was here first. ^^

Oh, I have not problems with Maria or Maria Chiara in general. The problem is that there's one Maria Chiara in the same flat that my old friend used to live and maybe in the same room. And that she studies the same things that the other used to study.

You're doomed. :p Or maybe being given a second chance to make peace?

It says I'm a healer, always looking for the bit of good in even the worst person or situation, trying to make things better. (Sorry, can't copy the whole thing over, since I'm on my cell phone.)

Guess that could be me. I don't see things in black and white, that's for sure.

Apparently I'm a mastermind :D

Meaning no disrespect to you, they clearly did not think this through. How could you be "one of a kind" and yet represent 2% of the population? Regardless of how one might answer the question "The population *of* what?" it's almost certain to consist of more than 50 individuals.

:'(

Nah, it's as rubbishy as the others sadly. Though all the talk of manoeuvring makes me think more of Mycroft than me, I don't have the energy for those kind of shenanigans

 I think they phrased the type descriptions so that everybody would feel special and flattered. That's why they almost all say "unique". I got "Protector" and it was like the most sugar-coated, over-positive description of what it means to be INFJ:

You're the Protector! This introvert type is quite unique, as many of your personality qualities defy the definition of your individual traits. Though you're deeply emotional, you have excellent analytical abilities; though Introverted, you have well-developed people skills and robust social relationships; and though you are somewhat conservative, you are often receptive to change and new ideas. You are a true altruist, meeting kindness with kindness-in-excess and engaging the work and people you believe in with enthusiasm and generosity! You can literally save the world!

I wish that test would have told me how I could supposedly save the world.

Going slightly off topic, but it reminds me of an X-Files episode where Mulder got the opportunity to make an unlimited wish. He said "peace on earth" and poof - all humans were gone. I suspect it would go sort of like that. :P

So you're saying it tells everyone they're a beautiful and unique snowflake? ;)

I got "Protector" too. I can see an element of that in me, but I'm basically too aloof and lazy to be bothered....... :d

Started University courses two weeks ago, very busy classrooms. If you are lucky you can have a seat, but you can find yourself so so close to perfect strangers, nearly to say: "Excuse me, can I seat on your knees, you see, there is no seat for me". If you aren't lucky, you have to sit down on the floor. Last thursday I stayed 3 hours on the floor, trying to take phisics notes. It was exausting.

Oh dear, poor you. Yeah, I remember sitting on the stairs at uni. Is this your first semester?

No, it's my second year, last year we were in bigger classrooms, so we had where to seat <_<

Hm, I don't know if it's a cultural thing, but that seems really bad, if you're paying for a course they should provide enough seating for everyone. I never had to sit on the stairs or someone's lap in my lectures. :S

I don't know about Italy, but here in Germany, if you go to a public university, the courses are free. You pay a yearly fee (usually a couple hundred euros) to your local students' organization, but that's it. They tried to introduce tuition in some states a while back but that failed pretty badly.

So for an education paid for by the taxpayers, you can't really expect a seat per person... Nor an intact roof, it seems. My university was in one of the poorer states and I remember we had to put a bucket on one of the tables to catch the drops.

But honestly? I'd rather put up with inconveniences like that than start my professional life with a huge loan.

Ah, that's quite interesting. We have free colleges but no free unis.

There are no colleges in Germany. There's high school and then there's university. That's it.

Only about a quarter to a third of the population used to go to uni. There are plenty of jobs that you can get without ever bothering with academics, via apprenticeships and / or by going to vocational schools.

Now, more and more people are aiming for a university degree. Some say the BA is the new Abitur (= level of high school diploma you need to qualify for uni, sort of like the French Bac). So the places are getting pretty full.

That's really interesting. They used to have free university in California (for residents only, I assume) and it was considered one of the best education systems in the nation, but Mr. Reagan put an end to that. :( (I've never forgiven him for that.... ) I had to pay for school, but fortunately it wasn't that much, at the time, and I had assorted scholarships and work-study grants that paid for most of it. I shudder to think what it costs now, especially when it's more important than ever to have a degree if you want decent work. It troubles me that an education has become so expensive in this country.
