What is he thinking about same countries but nonmuslims?

Are you referring to Bannon or Putin?

Sorry it's fake.

You don't say! Still don't know if I find it funny, though - it could be too close to home to qualify.

Don't listen to him T.o.b.y!

He's one of those Leftists that want to ruin our country.

I'm guessing you're asking how the Muslim Ban affects non-Muslims from Muslim-majority countries?

The answer is that it's just as discriminatory.

In fact there was an article about this subject that came out a week age:

https://www.pri.org/stories/2017-02-01/trump-voter-stunned-find-her-syrian-relatives-deported

So basically there were some Syrian-American Christians that voted for Trump. Then when their family tried to come to the US, Trump instated his Muslim Ban. Thus the poor Syrian American Christian Trump voters had to watch their family get deported back to Damascus.

They didn't think that Trump would betray them. They thought Trump was a trustworthy guy who would look out for them. Looks like they were wrong.

Those posts were hysterical, Surelock! Although as Toby indicated, they may not be much longer ...

The stuff about Bannon, you mean? Or the stuff he believes in? I would say no to the former; he really believes it. And yes to the latter; it's just random crap stirred together to make a theory some people want to believe in.

What's scary is people like Bannon are so determined to prove they're right that they're actively working to bring their vision about.

Is the Muslim ban still in force or has it been overturned?

Posted

The circuit court is still considering it. So at this time, the ban has been put on hold, so people are coming into the country again. But if the court rules in Trump's favor, the ban could be reinstated.

So no one is trapped in airports at the moment? Or are refugees still being held there?

Indeed. I hope that this stuff is put together randomly and out of context.

Holy balls.

What did I just read?

Is he one of those who want the forth, that three is not enough?

Did he watch Sherlock?

What doesn't he take a stroll in the war zone and see if he likes it.

Well, they are being allowed to go through. But there must be a terrible backlog, so in that sense I suspect a lot of them are still trapped. And some of the ones who were sent back to their country of origin haven't gotten out yet, I believe.

There was one story ... a man who has been working as a translator for the Americans. He applied four years ago for asylum for himself and his family, finally got it, they arrived in (I think) Seattle ... and were sent back. They got back into the States yesterday, but their faith in this country is quite shaken. As is mine.

:(

How's the kitty?

The thing is ... I've always known people like that were out there.

But I always thought most Americans thought they were lunatics.

Now I'm finding out there's more believers than I ever imagined.

And the non-believers who voted for Trump ... just sort of shrug. As long as they get a ban on abortion, they don't seem to care about the rest of it. Heads in the sand.

I just got the tie free! I managed to corner her on the stairs, prodded about in her mouth as much as I could, and when she escaped it fell out - hoorah!

So Trump signed an executive order that allows Dakota Access Pipeline to go ahead as long as it's approved by the army.

After all those protests in the past few months and Obama finally putting an end to the project we get Trump who's okay with destroying Native American land and doesn't care a bit about climate change.

Also Trump has investments in the Dakota Access Pipeline so his approval for it isn't surprising:

I thought the constitution said that the US President wasn't supposed to have conflicts of interest with any kind of business ventures while he serves as president?

And not limited to Americans.

Other reason why I quit social media (other than this forum :p), because it makes me realize there are so much more morons out there than I had ever imagined.

I always find it ironic when Americans and Australians complaint about immigrants, and how they treat the natives.

See, that's what shocks me much more than the new administration - The number of people who are in agreement with them. Approval ratings of 40% - the papers call that low, I don't. Imagine Germany re-elected.... A well known historical figure... And 40% of the population said yay.

Also, from what I hear, roughly half the Senate and Congress seem in favor of the people being appointed to important offices and quite okay with most major decisions.

A few individuals are never a real threat to democracy. It's the cheering, nodding masses that give them power and that I am most afraid of.

Not sure if you're aware already but when the papers say that the Trump Bannon administration has a 40% approval rating they're referring to its approvability from a historical standpoint. Traditionally all the new administrations have had a high approvability rating (50% +) when their term begins. However this one didn't so it's low relevant to all the earlier ones.

However you're right that there are still millions of people that still support them. It looks like millions of people just don't realise they've been conned by Trump's anti-establishment, anti-interventionist etc message. The question is how long will it take for them to wake up? Hopefully not a full 8 years. I would really like a new administration by 2020.

It's funny Trump cares more about this then that white shooter that shot 6 Muslims in a Quebec Moqsue. That white shooter had liked Trump on facebook so he was probably a fan of his.

Nigel Farrage went on TV to say we should follow Trump's ban and install our own.

I'm worried it's even worse than that ... I'm worried they agree with him.

I know one lady ... I can't talk to her about it anymore, but I remember during the election she agreed that there should be a ban on Muslims because "they believed in" terrorism. She utterly failed to understand why that was bigotry. At the time I just thought she was a nit, but now I'm worried that there's a whole army of people out there who think exactly that way.

Hope I'm wrong.
