When we lived in California, I refused to go outside at night because of all the snails underfoot.  * crunch * crunch * crunch * crunch *

I walked into a spider the other day.  I went out to the get the mail, and it was drifting down from the top of the garage as I was walking back in.  Bluhck.

Yup, you should pose for dental magazines.

How did you know? Got another gig next week. Right after the opthamologist magazine gig.

Are you the 'before'? Or cautionary tales to get people to do regular scaling?

Because that works the other way around, by looking at you I'd postpone my dental appointment for another ten years. Nothing urgently needed. :p

My orthodontist used to have a picture of a young Tom Cruise on the wall to prove that he too once had hideous teeth.

I never think to ask how they use the pictures, I just take the money and buy more rock candy.

Your picture is kept in a folder, and when bad boys and girls try to run from the dentist they get out the folder and say "If you don't get that cavity filled you'll look like this."

And you know this how? ;)

Probably saw it a few times in her younger days before it got too bad. :)

You're the reason I had a brace and now have straight teeth. So thanks for scaring me straight (excuse the pun). ;)

I hate it when take the bus and the bus is crowded and people have put their stuff next to them.

Oh, that is just rude.  If there are people needing seats and there are no baggage compartments, they should hold their parcels on their laps or put them between their feet.

Sometimes I go ahead and ask if that seat is taken. Most of them are just being thoughtless more than rude, and will apologize profusely while hastily removing their goods. I don't think I've ever had anyone refuse to let me have the seat, although some are certainly more gracious about it than others.

Doesn't bother me too much. If the bus isn't busy I don't see a problem with it, if it is busy I just ask them to move their stuff.

Unpopular opinion now.

I once had a bit of an argument with a woman on a bus once who commanded me to move my bag even though she (and everyone else) already had a seat. I didn't until later when someone actually did need the seat. I can't stand people telling me what to do, I'm more likely to do the opposite. If she'd needed the seat and asked I wouldn't have had an issue, but don't demand I do something when there's no actual need for it. Anyone who commands me to do something is not likely to get a positive response.

I am soooo tempted right now to command you to do something just to see what happens. :p

That reminds of the time I had this conversation with an old lady on the bus: "how old are you?" I didn't know why she asked that but I replied, then she said "you're sitting all comfortably aren't you? Have a some respect for your elderly!" And I was like: if you want to sit you can just ask nicely you know.

Yea, see, how could she possibly expect that to have a positive result? Not to mention there's no way to know whether she would have been insulted if you had got up to offer her your seat without prompting.

Oops, forgot the whole reason I came in here. Two rants this morning (so far).

1. Tailgating. It's the worst thing about driving on the motorway, do people really lack the intelligence to see how dangerous it is? Not to mention intimidating. It makes me furious when people are so close they might as well just be sitting in the boot. I also always have a perverse desire to slam on my brakes to teach them a lesson - I don't obviously because I don't want to be causing any accidents, but grrrr.

2. I went to pick up compost yesterday, and the garden centre had it all stored outside where it had got rained on and was therefore waterlogged and too heavy to move. I had to concede defeat, but just as I was leaving I noticed a little sheltered area with more compost that was dry and therefore really light. Why oh why store it outside? Even if I could have picked it up I would have had muddy water running all through my car.

You should experience being tailgated by car while riding motorcycle.

Or another variation when the car honks you to get out of the way while you are in the slow lane and practically almost behind the car in front.

Like you, all I do was mostly cursing because I don't want to cause accident, especially I'd be at disadvantage. But there was a time I was so pissed, I chased a car up, purposely cut their lane and gave them finger. Didn't say anger gets along with smart.

Othertime I purposely ride slowly with middle finger in the air. But mostly I didn't do anything harsh if I could help it. Not often.

I've only been on a bike once and I didn't feel safe at all, too paranoid that something would happen. Tailgating bikes is the height of stupidity - what the hell is wrong with people?
