Yeah, I bet we were all as nervous as Sherlock! I was expecting something rather maudlin and instead we get this moment of sheer lunacy (I love it when he takes the woman's menu and replaces with one that's "completely identical"). I really rather adore the entire reunion sequence.

I know I was, from the moment Sherlock stepped into the restaurant. This was the moment we'd been waiting for. I never would have come up with something so audacious and brilliant and still so real and heartfelt.

I like the exchange in Reichenbach:

John: Don't do that

Sherlock:  Do what?

John:  The look

Sherlock:  What look?

John: You're doing the look again

Sherlock:  Well, I can't see it can I ?

John points to mirror, Sherlock looks at himself.

Sherlock:  Its my face

John: Yes and its doing a thing. You're doing that "we both know what's really going on here" face.

Sherlock: Well we do.

John:  No I don't.  Which is why I find the face so annoying !!!

It just cracks me up.

I also love "I don't have friends" from the Hounds of Baskerville. The way Sherlock says "friends" as if it were an insult.

Ah, yes! I just finished watching HoB, and the scene in the pub made me feel for Sherlock more than usual. I've often seen it more from John's point of view, but I think I get Sherlock's reactions too; how he doesn't respond to John's attempts at reasoning, because he knows himself to be right. While that doesn't justify not listening to your friend, this is just how Sherlock is. Arrogant. He knows best; he knows that he saw something, even if it was unreal, and the evidence is that his body reacts with fear. It's like he has stepped out of himself and is taking an objective look at his own emotional reactions, judging them to be completely justified, albeit an irritating inconvenience. So when John accuses him of simply being "worked up," it infuriates him. John, of course, is taken aback by Sherlock's fierce demonstration of his own superior intellect - which is unusually arrogant, even for Sherlock (at least when it comes to showing off in front of John). Sherlock says, "I don't have friends," probably as a bit of a habit and in a moment of anger, which must feel like a punch in the gut for John. At least that's how it seems from the way he leaves the pub, heaving for breath.

Great scene! It's chilling and makes me ache when Sherlock angrily says, "There is nothing wrong with me, do you understand?!" and "So just leave me alone!"

Yes, this is both funny and also one of those scenes I find particularly true to character for Sherlock and John. It's a great demonstration of their dynamic! I love how John knows Sherlock's "look", and how it appears that John has pointed it out before. Tells us some more of their history.

"Ordinary people fill their heads with all kinds of rubbish. That makes it hard to get to the stuff that matters, do you see?"

Hmm, the man's got a point   but let's not go there.

"People were talking.  None of them me.  I must have filtered."

"I noticed."

"I have to filter out a lot of witless babble.  I have Mrs. Hudson on semi-permanent mute."

Love that quote :) Thank goodness he hasn't changed so much that we don't get his snarky comments anymore. Or his insensitve ones, here directed at Mrs. Hudson:

"Get me some morphine, I've run out."

"I don't have any morphine!"

"Then what exactly is the point of you?!"

Poor Mrs. Hudson, though. She is completely under-appreciated.

Okay, if reactiion shots count as quotes! --- then definitely number one on my list is John's reaction to Sherlock kissing Janine. :) OMG, I almost died.

Totally agree :D

I also love Sherlock's movements while saying, "I'm undercover!" ... "Well, I'm not now!"

"Me and Mary coming for dinner with... wine and... sitting."

"Seriously? I've just told you that the Western world is run from this house, and you want to talk about dinner!"

This exchange:

"If you were dying, if you’d been murdered, in your last few seconds, what would you say?

“Please, God, let me live.”

"Oh, use your imagination!"

"I don’t have to."

I thought that said so much about both of them right there.

Mycroft to John:  I hope I won't have to threaten you as well.

John:  Well, I think we'd both find that embarrassing.

One of my all time favorite Sherlock quotes from Last Vow, one of the more subtle ones, but had me laughing:

John: But it's Christmas!

Sherlock: *excitedly* Yes, I know, it is. Oh - you mean it's actually Christmas.

Oh Sherlock.
