"I am dismissive of the virtuous, unaware of the beautiful, and uncomprehending in the face of the happy."

Whoever wrote that (whoever wrote the entire wedding speech including the telegrams part): I wish I could hug him or her (not sure that would be welcome, though, on second thoughts...)

I was just thinking the same this morning, after having watched TSoT again last night :) I've surrendered completely to the wonderful warmth of this episode. If I should meet one of the writesr/producers/actors, and they asked me what I thought, I'd like to hug in response, cause I can't express how much I love it.

It feels like the entire series has come together in that episode, and it's hard to imagine how it can get better from here. Neither does it have to, but I do think His Last Vow will be great, too. The trailer looks promising.

Ariane DeVere posted her transcript of "The Empty Hearse" on January 3rd (!) -- so she may well have "Sign of Three" up any day now (assuming she's recuperated from doing "Hearse").  I consider hers to be the gold standard of Sherlock transcripts.

One of my favourite quotes from TSoT:

"I know ash! Don't tell me I don't!"

One of my favourite quotes from TSoT:

"I know ash! Don't tell me I don't!"

Hm, I'll have to pay better attention next time, I don't remember that one.

A funny one from TSoT:

I can go on all night about the depth and complexity of his... jumpers

Hilarious :)

Another favorite exchange of mine (from A Scandal in Belgravia):

"I want her under surveillance!"

"What for? You can follow her on twitter".

Ah, yes :) Modern day Sherlock.

On a completely different note; this particular line (and the context, of course) pretty much sealed my love for the show:

"He could be the making of my brother, or make him worse than ever."

My favourite of the entire series came up in His Last Vow...

I'm a doctor, I know how to sprain people.

For sure!  John is clearly ...

... a doctor of applied medicine.

You've got to hand it to the villains in Sherlock, they get great lines. I loved this one:

"I’m in news, you moron. I don’t have to prove it – I just have to print it!"

That reminded me of this:

John: I don't understand.

Magnussen: You should have that on a T-shirt.

Posted

Awwww... Do they have "I am Sherlocked" tops for women?

Posted

When Mary told John "You should put that on a T-shirt," I thought that was cute.  When Magnussen said the same thing, I wondered why they'd used the same idea twice.  Thanks, Martina, you have answered my question!

They're also selling the two shirts as a set.  But why are those the only two Sherlock shirts they're offering?  Seems to me they'd have sold a whole lot more "I believe in Sherlock Holmes" shirts over the past couple of years.

I have to mention a few more quotes from The Empty Hearse, too:

- Oh please, killing me, that's so two years ago!

Oh yes, this one was brilliant :lol5: Another nice little wink for the fans, I guess...

So, here's another one I really liked

John Watson: I don’t shave for Sherlock Holmes.

Mary Morstan[/b]: You should put that on a t-shirt.

From the flier inside the blu-rays for the BBC store they HAVE put it on a T-shirt!!

Haha! Should have read all posts to the end before putting my last comment up!

From TSoT when coaching Archie:
"You really do need to wear the outfit"
"What for?"
"Grown ups like that sort of thing"
"Why?"
(Pause) "...I dunno I'll ask one"

I watched Study in Pink again this afternoon and rediscovered a nice gem from Mike Stamford:  "Yeah ... he's always like that."

"You risk your life to prove you're clever."

"Why would I do that?"

"Because you're an idiot!"

Sherlock smirks.

"Dinner?"

:D

From His Last Vow, some funny quotes:

"Don't reply, just look frightened and scuttle."

Sherlock: "You phoned him?"

John: "Course I bloody phoned him."

Mycroft: "Course he bloody did."

This one from His Last Vow always makes me laugh:

"Brother mine, don't appal me when I'm high."

Yep :) And

"You may consider him under my protection."

"I consider you under his thumb!"

"The East Wind takes us all in the end".

That is beautiful, I think.

"John, I am a ridiculous man, redeemed only by the warmth and constancy of your friendship." Aw, my heart!

"Beheadings." "Lovely little village." :lol2:

John: "Well, if he is..... he'd better wrap up warm, there's an East Wind coming."

And here comes Sherlock, home to England after a four minute exile.
