The entire enterprise crew, sat around with popcorn, whilst Spock protests that broadcasting a shower is not the correct procedure and violates Starfleet code 1768527.89B. But secretly he's enjoying it just as much as the others.

I think it likely was a bit of a perv as well, like when we see Carol in her underwear for no reason other than letting the boys perv.

You've no idea how angry that scene makes me.

It doesn't bother me that much, but I know a lot of people complained about it at the time so you're not alone. I think the complaints were the reason the cut shower scene was released.

I'll admit we are a lot better than most places. I'd be scared to post anything on a lot of forums without people coming for me!

Because Khan really IS just that perfect. (Who wants to take a bet this thread will bring VBS running? XD)

I wonder if they cut it because it wasn't as sexy as they were hoping for because of the scrunched chin.

JJ: Benedict, you're scrunching your chin, tilt your head up.

BC: *tilts head up, closes eyes*

JJ: Benedict, you're closing your eyes, keep them open.

BC: But I'll be blinded.

JJ: I don't care. Do it.

BC: But...

JJ: Do it.

BC: *looks up, forces eyes open* But... but it hurts.

Someone mentioned Khan? Where where?? WHERE?

(Who wants to take a bet this thread will bring VBS running? XD)

Oooohhh I'm not that predicatble, it shouldn't work anymore. You are just coincidentally guess the right time.

Somewhere out in the world VBS is perking up right now.

I'm not sure whether I should be glad or disappointed that you used 'in' and not 'out of'. :P

You guys make me curious about what happened in the episode threads. Is it very bad? But then again I won't be checking them out soon at the risk of being sucked into rabbit hole because as soon as I finish playing outside, playing time is up. Anyway, I feel like this forum is stuck in January. With the winter theme and hidden threads. Okay, okay.. no more b*tching but my fingers and toes are crossed, means yah, I will do that again. :)

When I run into impassioned threads I would either ignore it or if it really presses my button, would engage, but only when the other sides are open to reasonable discussion so eventhough there are disagreement, it could be enjoyable to see other's POV, but otherwise, it's like a shouting match in fish market and I don't care for those. So how is that like? Good roundtable or fishmarket?

Posted

Mostly roundtable, but the fishmarket is more memorable.  Plus some occasional roundtable fishmarket.

I think the threads in question have quieted down a good bit by now. It should be safe to venture over, VBS. And nobody expects you to read all previous posts!

Goodness knows I'm not going to read everything back to January! But, yeah, it seems to be safe now.

Also some slapping each other with fishes, don't forget that!

Roundtable fishmarket and fish slapping??!? :D

I shouldn't miss those!

Thanks Toby, I'm not weary with confrontional situations though, at certain level, it fascinates me as observer. Just certain level. I just seem not able to find good time to get in, and would like to at least skim through last few pages to see what is current. I'm too slow and take too long to post anything, so mostly I just stuck outside and time's up. RL calling.

On other topic,

I remember some of you mentioned about having problem with face recognition. Try this for fun.

If You Ace This Quiz, You Definitely Don't Have Prosopagnosia

I'm okay with faces, terrible with names. Still it's surprising to get 10 score but I'll take it, :p although I don't want to be witness or detective.

I got 7/10.

American folks is AL the initials for Alabama?

Yes it is.

Hm, 5/10. "You got 5 out of 10 correctYour face memory is pretty good! With even just limited time to study faces, you're able to remember most of them either photographically or by remembering stand-out features. You probably do well at parties."

I don't agree with that, though, because I didn't "recognize" (or not recognize) the faces that I got right ... I just guessed. 50/50 chance.

I made the mistake of trying to memorise their hair styles and then was thrown when they were hairless.

Do you recognise this face?

I got 7/10, simply by clicking "yes" for any face that looked vaguely familiar.  (Apparently the other three looked familiar from somewhere else!)

Pseud, hair doesn't count because that's one way that people who do have prosopagnosia will generally manage to recognize people.  (Which apparently explains why my own dear mother would fail to recognize me every time I changed my hair.)

Yea, I know, it was my failed attempt at cheating the system. :(

The A-states are tricky.  Dunno about anyone else, but I often have to stop and think.  Problem is, AL could logically be either Alabama or Alaska, AR could be Arizona or Arkansas, and AK could be Alaska or Arkansas.  And the whole problem was compounded by the Canadian code for Alberta (AB).  Guess they did the best they could.

Alex took the quiz and also got 7/10.  In real life, Alex is phenomenal with faces and I'm mediocre.  Conclusion:  The quiz is not a particularly valid test of what it purports to be measuring.
