yup. isn't he cute? :D

And a shirt. Though the guy on the picture does rather look like that one actor from the seventies action films, the one with the tan and the moustache...what's his name, Burt Reynolds? :giggle:

The t-shirt looks more like the comic book version than Benedict's movie version.

Because I'm in that kind of mood, I just spent the past 15 minutes looking at random movie posters. I found 15 (one per minute! ) that showed the featured player from the back. Here's the list:

Rocky

Endless Summer

Forrest Gump

Dark Knight Rises

Drive

All 3 Hobbit movies

Resident Evil: Extinction

Big Wednesday

Unforgiven

American Graffiti

Dr. Strangelove (!)

The Searchers

Akira

Woodstock

Alice in Wonderland

There MUST be a connection. (It's a conspiracy!)

So desperate am I, that I am watching Game of Shadows. It's weird to see a Watson that is taller than Holmes....

Yes. In fact, as I was watching it, I kept thinking they got the casting reversed!

Every Holmes gets the Watson he deserves.

(I can't find it now, and it makes me crazy, but there was a fan fic I'd love to read again that had all the Holmes from Sherlock, Elementary, ACD, and RDJ (I think) in a locked room, and all the Watsons were trying to rescue them.  I remember they all got confused until they came up with different ways to refer to one another, and it had this great scene where Joan (I think) points to each Watson in turn and labels them "John, Joan, Doctor, Watson."   )

Ooo, if you find that again, please share. That sounds like something I'd like to read. It also sounds like a great skit for a Sherlock convention.

Heh, found it!  Took a little Google-fu, but now I have it bookmarked, and here it is for your amusement:

Dear me, that was hilarious!  The author certainly knows his/her characters.  Would have loved to see both of Jeremy Brett's Watsons included, but I suppose they'd already run out of names.  (Though John could have been called Hamish, I suppose.)

Dear Carol, impossible! The Granada series remains THE definitive benchmark, no way they could have been parodied! But I did miss Data and HIS Watson!

I picture the Granada H/W for this fic when the ACD versions are called for.

That would have been cute: Data and Geordie running around in there as well.  :-)

More definitive than the ACD characters?  (And thank goodness they've never been parodied!  ;) )

Dear Carol, amen to that! They brought said characters to the screen with dedication, love for their respective characters and infinite, painstaking attention to detail. No flamboyant trench coats with upturned collars and assassin wives needed!

In case anyone didn't know, Benedict and Sophie were at Wimbledon yesterday cheering on Andy Murray:

And then Andy Murray won the cup and it was presented by BC, whose fan Murray is, so he got the same flipping question:.how many Holmes stories are you doing? Answer: 3! Yep, Benedict, we had worked that out for ourselves, thanks very much!

Yes, I saw that plus their meet and greet afterwards where both gushed their fanboy selves to each other.  So cute!

Am I the only person thinking that it was incredibly rude how Bradley Cooper initially ignored Sophie?

Mmm, no, I don't think so. I think it would be appropriate to greet the person you knew first, then let them introduce you to the person you didn't know. Of course, that's assuming he knew Ben (either from before, or just because they're in the same business), but not Sophie.

The funny part to me is that I wouldn't recognize Bradley Cooper if he sat right next to me. I know his name, that's all.

And now, except the possible airdate for the series, we shall have to contain ourselves in patience until mid-September because of Benedict's EMMY nomination.

What was he nominated for? And yes, I've been living under a rock.
