I have not been around for a while because I suffered a mild stroke on Aug 21.  My typing is still not so good but getting better.  Was in hospital for two days. Will contribute regularly again when fully recovered.

If, there is one thing you could change about your past, money no object, do you have any?

I don't have any regrets that are important enough, every good and bad things that happened shape the way I am and I like it, eventhough I am leading ordinary life instead of grabbing my chances to be rich, successful or whatever.

But if there is one thing I could change, I want to take different career path. I like my job, but not to the extend I am very passionate about it or willing to sacrifice more than I should. Sometimes i feel bored, sometimes I feel unmotivated, sometimes I hate certain factors about it sometimes I feel stuck.

Yes, if I could change I probably would like to be a scientist or marine biologist, doing research on my leisure on chosen field and away..from people.

Do you guys have any?

Geez, sfmpco.

Sorry my post crossed yours.

I hope you'll get well soon.

We had health frights in the family two weeks ago, my brother stayed more than a week in hospital, where in the middle he was rushed to ICU and had to be there for 3 days, and another two hospitalization cases. It felt like hell.

Take care, let us know if we can do anything here to make it better.

Oh dear, Jenny, so sorry to hear that! :o I thought you were on a biking tour or something. Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery! Like VBS said, if there's anything we can do to make it better, tell us.

Good heavens! We're glad you're still with us, Jenny.

Your typing *looks* just fine. I take it you mean that doing it is not so easy at the moment. Please feel free to practice on us!

My stroke was mild by comparison to some.  I am right-handed and my right side was affected.  I am typing better but not great.  It took me 4 days just to be able to follow the cursor on the screen.  I can mostly control the mouse now.

Good for you! Keep up the good work (even after you're mostly better), and you should become fully functional again.

OMG, Jenny! I'm so sorry! So glad it was a mild one, those are hard enough. I hope you're getting some great therapy to help you recover faster. Hang in there, we all hope you're back in full form soon. :rose: :rose: :rose:

There was a point, several years ago now, where I realized that I had to let go of regrets; they were fairly harmful to me. And I've never regretted that decision. :D

But if I could go back and change one thing ... hm. I think I would go back and lock my kitty cat up in the house so she wouldn't follow me out to the road and get hit by a car. She survived -- somehow -- but it was a horribly traumatic experience for both of us. I'd spare her that, if I could. She was something special.

Oh gosh, Jenny. I only just saw your post. So sorry! Even if, thankfully, the symptoms might be comparatively mild, this must be quite a shock nonetheless.

I hope you have access to good medical care including OT etc as needed.

Okay, it's after midnight, but I just had a funny thought-thing...

BC was playing a character called Angel Islington in Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. The name stuck with me and after Zoolander2 my brain attached the name to All's angel figure seen in the trailer. In the last interview with Mark I read he and Ian live in Islington, London. Being me, I took a look at London's map to get an idea where it is (and yes, the thought of having a closer look in RL did cross my mind :angel1: ) only to find out that Angel Islington is actually a place in London! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Angel,_Islington

And it looks like they have a kind of symbolic sculpture in the center of the area:

Is it a big stretch when I say the wings are made of metal which reminds me of All's wings? As I said it's after midnight...

Okay, J.P. Normally what I would do in that kind of situation: touch my forehead to check the temperature, then touch my backside to do the same. If they are both equally warm, that means it's time to go to bed and forget about Sherlock. :p

What if one's warmer than the other?

Pssst.. the backside is supposed to be warmer. That's the basic test the wise man suggests whenever I start to talk nonsense, but of course you check the temperature sitting down.

This does not sound very scientific to me.....

Sure, most natural place in the world to find Baker Street....

As there are alternative treatment, there are alternative diagnosis as well... :p

A Baker Street Pub and Grill may be in your area if you are in Colorado, Texas or Oklahoma...

As the substitute of not staying in those areas, I opt to look for Chinese food that stays open until 2 am with dimsum on its menu and spending most of my time there trying to examine the bottom third of the door handle instead of eating.

(SIP reference, for those who are rusty. Shame on you, go for rewatch..! :p)

I live in Chinatown, and dimsum is pretty much on ever corner... I prefer fish & chips.
