Strictly speaking, it's not a wig, it's extensions. What gives with the whole Setlock series of pictures of Sherlock going down the stairs to the area of a set of flats, Louise Brealy holding an infant in what seems to be a crime scene, with Papa Lestrade and his SOCOs doing their jobs, and Louise then tweeting that she has finished her part in the first episode? Are they trying to give us embolisms, heart attacks or mild strokes before the flipping thing has even finished filming, not to mention post-production?

Probably. xd

It's hard to tell what's going on from people present on the set alone. Sometimes they shoot a scene for days, sometimes - two scenes parallely on one location (The court scene from Many Happy Returns was shot in the corner of the set for CAMs hearing/discussing Sherlock's fate with Lady Smallwood)

As for the baby: using Okham's Razor - the simpliest solution is Mary's and John's daughter. I just hope Mofftiss haven't read Sherlock and a Baby... thread :P

Well, both threads pretty much leave the unlikeable, ex-assassin wife of his out of the picture, so it's hardly likely! And do I have plans for SherlockedCamper's version!

Well, after this week, that's 4 weeks of filming... wonder when they'll finish this one and go to 4.2....

Don't rush them, I'm enjoying this too much.

I'm pretty sure that's from TSo3.

Yup, found it on Pinterest labelled as such. Sorry!

So we're getting more of Sherlock's history.  Wonder if this might be the scene where Sherlock "upsets Mummy"?

Sherlock seems to be deflecting the blame for upsetting mummy to Mycroft im ASIP.  We shall see.

Could Louis Moffat be a candidate?

Nope, he's too tall and too old.  They're looking for someone to play Sherlock at age 6.

And apparently it's an idea of Mr Gatiss's that has been floating around since S1, because in TGG with commentary, during the Bruce-Partington plans first discussion, they talk about Mycroft and Sherlock's strange shared childhood and how Sherlock rather spoiled the family atmosphere: he discovered as a child that his father was having an affair, BC quickly being deflected by Mr Gatiss.

You know, I've always heard that exchange a little differently than most people do.  I've always taken it to mean that, in general, Mycroft thinks Sherlock's behavior upset Mummy, and Sherlock is saying, in effect, "no, I'm not the one who always upset her; she was mad at you more often."  So I've never thought there was one big event waiting for a reveal. But I could be wrong.

Even if it was some specific event, we really don't know what.  The origin of that idea isn't even in Conan Doyle's stories, a couple of different versions are in a couple of different movie adaptations.  So if they do use the idea, they'd feel free to adapt the livin' daylights out of it.

This is semi related to Sherlock.  Just a few interviews with Toby Jones (interviews have nothing to do with Sherlock, however).  Of course TJ and BC were also together in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy.  He was also, of course, recently with Mark Gatiss in Dad's Army.

Yay, more flashbacks! (This is a non-ironic yay. I really do like flashbacks. And learning more about Sherlock.)

I don't know what to make of the news so far other than that I think series 4 will be utterly crazy and I have high hopes for an adaptation of Silver Blaze.

Silver Blaze as a speedster, a rocket or something equally modernised? I am rather looking forward to the Dying Detective becoming a full-on attack against the modern international pharmaceutical companies: murder in the boardroom! But I would like to see Lady Frances becoming a modern explanation of Jim's death. In TAB, Sherlock was already trying to unearth the second corpse. And if the whole thing is to put them through the wringer, why not The Three Garridebs, just to keep TJLC happy?

Well, what with the castle and the filming on a beach, there are two possible choices: The Devil's Foot and The Lion's Mane, but the second has the major drawback of no John Watson in it.

If the Brett adaptation of "Musgrave" managed to incorporate Watson very nicely, then I suspect the Moftisses are capable of doing something similar.
