I thought I saw a rifle, but it turned out to be the violin ... so I'm wondering if that's where the idea there's a rifle came from? Cuz I don't see it either.

With any luck we'll have some new stuff for our hot gifs thread soon! I was wondering why they has their legs in the water, especially since it's not unknown for Sherlock to perch on the back of his seat.

I like the one of Sherlock but not so sure about the one of John....

I like it, it's definitely unusual, shame it doesn't go with the others though.

True. I don't why that would bother me, but it does.

Don't you mean Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman? ;)

If you have a set of something it's always good when they go together. As a kid I loved the books that when you had the whole series on a shelf they made a kind of hidden picture along all the spines :D I wonder if they'll change the packaging of the other DVDs eventually?

Radio Times' analysis of the trailer, don't know if it's already been posted - I'm usually behind on these things!

Seems all very tenuous if you ask me, but might be some interest. God knows we need something to talk about!

Some of it's at least intriguing -- but we've already seen the Persian slipper and the knife in prior episodes. Maybe they've been clues for S4 ever since the unaired pilot -- but I have my doubts.

You mean, you think that might be why I don't like it as well? Because it looks more like Martin than John? Hmmmm.... I don't know, I don't think it really looks like Martin either. It's just not the best likeness I've ever seen. I could critique the portrait of Sherlock too, but at least you know who it's supposed to be ...

Some of the "clues" are in the show from the beginning, so I don't think about them as such. IMO it's the things that are new or don't belong where they are that are interesting: the notes, the book, the umbrellla, the poem. And the water.

Someone even wrote about the photo on the wall behind John as "new", a "waterfall" and a clue. Of course I corrected their data. :D

ETA: It's really interesting that the "game is afoot" comes from Shakespeare.

To me it looks exactly how Martin looks in the promos for S4.

To me as well. Or in other words, like Martin Freeman. I still don't think John Watson would wear his hair that way (unless maybe Mary insisted, and I doubt that would work, 'cause he's still pissed at her).

Looks like we're going to have to get used to it. (I still find it funny that so many of us were angsting over Sherlock's hair, and it's John who went and changed his. I can't help but think they're deliberately twitting the fans with that one.)

One thing his hair does suggest to me ... the passage of time. Mary's is a little different too, isn't it?

Well, I'm not exactly up on my baby development facts, but the size of the baby we see in the shots with the baby carrier looks to be a fair few months old. We know they cast a newborn, so there must be a few newborn scenes then I'm guessing a skip of a few months. I wonder if Sherlock will comment on John's hair, just a dry little aside.

Does anyone have any idea why in the previous teaser/trailer Sherlock tells Mycroft 'I have absolutely no idea!' as he is leaving the office, when it is the exact same phrase he used at the end of SiP over Moriarty? Or is the universe (read Mr Moffat) actually so lazy?
