I want to know who Sherlock is talking to in the last scene of that trailer. There are too many options that could get several shipping camps going.

Well, we know two people he wasn't talking to because they were standing behind him.

So it seems Smith knows something about Sherlock's past? That's interesting. I wonder what it could be. But I think I'll take that wondering to the speculation thread where it belongs...

Is that the spoiler thread? Because I'm not following that.

If I was a real b---h, I would be in paroxysms over the Johnlockers getting all excited about this.

But I looked at my old forum and actually I saw some really good discussion and theories.

For a start, we're not sure if it's Mind Palace.

Theories range from is he talking to himself, John, Mycroft...

Apparently he looks like he's speaking to a barrel of a gun, so is he addressing the person holding the gun?

But the best theory I've seen, though a bit worrying, is that 'I love you' could be a pre-arranged code, like with ' Vatican cameos'.

I wondered if Sherlock could be addressing Mycroft and it means: Help, I'm broken.

Somebody was also saying that Sherlock's lip movements don't match the ' I love you' soundtrack.

There was also the comment that John and Mycroft don't look to concerned, which was supposed to suggest the Mind Palace.

But I'm not convinced:  we can't see Mycroft so well.

Unless you consider references to the original Doyle stories spoilers, nope. How could we spoiler anything at this point? We don't know more than has been shown us in the form of the little teasers and images linked to in this thread...

How can you tell he's facing a gun? To me, it looks as if he's talking to a camera (which he most certainly is IRL, but that's not what I meant).

He could be talking to a mirror. :P Somehow the place reminds me of the cell Jim was kept by Mycroft.

But, well, the words, so directly spoken gave me a little shock.

I'm really nervous about the end of our collective Sherlock pregnancy. The birth might be difficult and who knows what comes out of this.

And then how long we will have to wait for the next one. If ever.

Eurgh, I'd rather not birth anything, ta.

Sherlock-flipping-Holmes has never before, EVER, said those words to anyone in his entire universe and 130-year-old life! They have no right to make him say them, unless it's their take of the Culverton-Smith hoax: saying the words while pretending to be hallucinating. Otherwise, they will have betrayed their sacred trust, their professed respect for ACD Holmes, and the entire fandom, of whatever allegiance. Where's PlaidAddder when you need her logical, razor-sharp wit to take the two tricksters-teasers apart just for this affront to logic and reason? :picard:

Am I the only person who is happy with the prospect of an ending? I want an ending. Provided it's a good one.

Like making it appear that Sherlock says these words to the slightly disheveled Mycroft, turns and shoots him because Dr Watson must be spared for a following season? Is that your definition of a happy ending, dear TOBY?

Or, even better, being forced by circumstances to say the words to Moriarty, in order to spare the two people he holds most dear in his life?

I'm fine with an ending, I just think if this is it... they have a lot to wrap up for me in 3 episodes to make it feel complete.

Did you guys notice? At 0:47, there's a scene that seems to belong to the final one where Sherlock hands John a gun while a third party in a gray suit (could be Mycroft but doesn't look quite like him to me) looks on. Interesting, huh?

"Tell them your darkest secret!"

"I LOVE YOU!"

*shivers*

Hell, having an end would change A LOT. But it's still better than forcing the show to have no end. Or die out from lack of interest on both sides.

A good open ending - I think I could live with this.

I don't think you should try to make too much sense out of the red herring narrative the trailer is spinning.  You should all know better than that by now.   :P

I will say that when I saw the house burning that I was immediately reminded of the house burning at the end of Skyfall.

Yes, but he always tells Dr Watson to bring HIS gun along. This a different situation altogether, it's Bondlock and they are known fans of Bond in general and OHMSS in particular.

Anyway, we shall find out shortly! In the meantime, I don't need a shock blanket, I will just hug my boxed sets of Granada Holmes, Morse and Lewis series, re-watch and relax.

It depends on when they're all available, and that can to some extent be controlled by Hartswood, by contracting with them sufficiently far in advance. The ending of Episode 3 may give us a clue as to roughly what time frame they anticipate. I doubt that it'll be more than four or five years.

But you haven't even had S4! :o

What is the worst Sherlock could do to (all) his friends?

Probably to die, for real this time. Please give some other ideas, the next 5 weeks will be hard enough…

He won't die.

You're assuming Sherlock does something, but maybe someone does something to him that is so bad he can't get over it and pulls away. So what is the worst John can do to Sherlock? ;)

Ooo, we have forum snow!!!

Hasn't he already left him alone? I get the impression after the wedding they didn't talk since Sherlock was shooting up again and John hadn't even noticed.

Didn't HLV happen for some people?!

But wow, some folk are really optimistic.

All the signs have been that this is it for BBC Sherlock, at least for a very long time.
