According to twitter they have finished filming the special.

So that means it's time to add the music, the text captions, pick which take will be used in the final edit, and put all the scenes in the correct order so the fans know what is going on. Oh wait, why would Moftiss ever want to let us know what is going on :) ;) :D

And now BC prepares to get married... which I am thinking will be Saturday.  Valentines Day.  I could be wrong, but I suspect it.

Wait! WHAT!?!?!!?!!? It's only February, what the heck are we supposed to do for the rest of the year?!??!??! :comp:

Bash our heads against the wall gently and continue speculating trying to put all of the pics we've seen into some semblance of a story line. :)

Have fun agreeing, disagreeing, speculating and occasionally indulging in pure escapism!

Wouldn't it be funny if it's Victorian for the whole 1.5 hours, and they just show it, without a word of explanation or any sign there's anything unusual about it ....

... and this would be different from Series 3 in what way?

You forgot "... and fail miserably."

But it won't be entirely.  We already know that they'll be at the graveyard in modern clothes with modern police... immediately after Sherlock's plane lands.

Then, dear sfmpco, your fan fiction may be spot on, because it would mean investigating Moriarty's tomb!

Some  of the ideas thrown about could be part of it, despite their attempts at misdirection, especially in the tweets of Mr Gatiss and the other actors who bother with that sort of thing. The main problem remains, if they start filming S4 in November, it cannot reasonably be shown before next summer, which would constitute cruel and unusual punishment towards their hitherto loyal fan base. That Special had better be more than just extraordinary, or the whole thing will deflate sooner than later, and all participants have to earn their living off it, and in the case of the producers, make money out of it. If they revert to what they did for S1 and programme it for summer 2016, then they might just have shot themselves in the foot.

Well, it's partially spot on.  Of course they'd have to go to the grave.  Beyond that, I have chartered my own course!

Unless they just did that to fool us.... :p

If I remember correctly, they said all along it wouldn't be ready until 2016 at the earliest. I've never expected to see it until then, at any rate. (That way I won't be disappointed! )

I'm expecting the Special to air during the 2015-2016 holiday season, and Series 4 a year later.  But they haven't even announced a filming schedule for S4 (just "later"), so who knows?

Yeah but depends what he means by inner geek I suppose...I mean I geek out over stationery products!

I think he could mean that the Sherlockian geeks won't be disappointed. :)

Good, that gives BC a few days to get married in complete privacy, he is intensely protective of the things and people that matter to him in real life, as well. Good for him!

I'm still calling  it - he'll get married on Feb. 14, Valentines Day, at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland.

They being John and Mary, though. Correct me if I am wrong, but so far, we have not seen any pictures of Sherlock as his 21st century self, have we? *Sigh*... looks as if we'll have to resign ourselves to an entire episode without either curls or Belstaff coat.

I don't quite know what to think, to be honest. On the one hand, I am insanely excited to see the boys and everybody else in a Victorian setting, and expect it all to be a huge super-indulgent piece of geek fun. On the other hand, I'd much rather have a regular 10th episode of the series I fell in love with.

If only series 4 would come sooner. I feel as if I really needed some news about a bit of "serious" filming right now, and seeing the characters the way they are "supposed" to be.

Oh, I think we'll get the curls AND the Belstaff.  After all, he has to step off the plane... I suspect they're keeping that part quite secret.

And then rush off to spend his honeymoon on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

Of course, in the alternative universe Sherlock gets married to Molly and they have a baby about the same time as the Watsons. That would explain some of the setlock pics, anyway.

Like the one where

(supposedly) Molly is pushing a baby carriage? Well, theoretically, in the Victorian setting she could be a nursemaid or a governess, but I agree it's more likely to be hers - and so Sherlock's (!? :wtf:), unless there's also a Victorian Tom and it went past the engagement stage...

Precisely; like that one! And completely agree on :wtf:

Anyway, this is more or less just for fun... Although I'm not entirely kidding about the idea of an alternative universe. Could be.
