I hate it too. My sister in law always insists we have our photos taken when she sees me, and because I only see her once a year I try to pretend not to mind but I HATE it.

VBS - Wow, those colleagues of yours can't take a hint can they?

Apparently not. And I swear I didn't try to give excuses or sugarcoated it when I said no first few times. I'm surprised they seemed more offended when I refused picture taking than hanging out. But yet, refusal means nothing to them.

Yes, I hate the picture taking so much (glad I'm not alone) I would be angry if it happens again. Then I'll be the rude, anti social, arrogant, selfish, and those.

Same old. Same old.

Sh*t, I messed up something really badly, an expensive mistake. Feeling crappy.

A business thing, but since I work for my brother everything is also a personal thing.

OMFG, I just had to nip to the supermarket to get out money and buy juice (mixers) for a party tonight, and it... is... HELL... outside. Roads super busy. The supermarket had almost run out of trolleys. Crazy, crazy queues. Nightmare. God I hope it's just people doing their Christmas shopping on the way home from work and tomorrow, when it's my turn, it'll be a bit calmer.  :o

Start early!

1) not likely 2) follow JP's advice and go early.

I have to navigate 1 or more stores this afternoon and I know it's not going to easy.

Start drinking early or shopping early?

Shop first, take a break for a pint or a shot, repeat, & get home have a cuppa (spiked if necessary). Take deep breaths throughout and eat chocolate.

Okay, sounds like a plan!

On top of the whole Christmas thing, they're predicting snow here over the next couple of days.  Not much, just a couple inches, but enough that those who tend to panic (recent immigrants from California, most likely) are likely to do so.  My brother is planning to get up at the crack of dawn and head to the grocery for his weekly shopping.

I heard on the news that 2/3 of the country is going to be shopping tomorrow. I got mine done tonight, and it was still packed. I can't imagine what tomorrow will be like.

I did shopping today for baking supplies and managed to get through 3 stores without too much issues despite the obvious lines at the last 2 stores.

At least your grocery store opens that early! Ours is only open from 8 to 8. And we still need a few things. I can see the parking lot from my window, it is jam packed. We're going to wait until lunch time and go when most people are (hopefully) at home eating.

Yeesh, this is all making me think twice about going today. I might go tomorrow instead, it seems to be pretty quiet on Christmas eve around here - I think everyone thinks it'll be manic so they stay home.

I wonder if any fights broke out in the horror yesterday. I saw one of the employees wandering through the clothing section yelling 'Frosty the Snowman' so I think she'd cracked.

It occurs to me now why I meant to go to the store yesterday instead of today .... hmmm, wonder if the coffee will last for a few more days......

^ That movie is so silly, but I love it, lol.  I still imitate it at random.  "Get outta my way, BOX!"

Jingle all the way was a good movie. I like how they portray it as being in Minneapolis, Minnesota but the street the parade is on is clearly a set as there is no street like that from what I've seen of the city (been to various parts covering most if not all of the city at least once in my lifetime).

From what I saw, they filmed parts of it in downtown St. Paul as well, in addition to various suburbs of the Twin Cities.  But you're right, I'm pretty sure the parade scene was not in Minneapolis (save the part where he's flying around the buildings; some of those were recognizable).

Edit: Yep, Google confirms.

Jingle All the Way was set and filmed in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul at a variety of locations, including the Mall of America. After five weeks filming, production moved to California where scenes such as the end parade were shot.

I don't remember that much about it - not that I'd know the location anyway.
