Is anyone else starting to feel like this after eating too much for the past week?

This is actually the first year that I didn't overeat at all.

 

Maybe because I have to avoid dairy for health reasons since the end of November and it's in so many products... I don't eat meat and there's a limit to how much eggs and fish a person can buy, let alone consume, so a lot of my meals were pretty much vegan and I almost exclusively ate my own, home-made sweets.

 

What can I say, I thought this would be hard, especially this time of the year, but I miss nothing and I feel great.

Have you ever tried poppy seed cake? There's a recipe, but I've discovered if you just use a white cake mix and pour a jar of poppy seeds into it, you get the same results. Delicious.

Some Star Wars ornaments that I paid for and wrapped, money from my parents (it's just easier for them), and a gift card to a local grocery store from my brother (I'm assuming he ordered it online as he doesn't live in the same state I do).

Hey, money and gift cards sound good to me!  I never once received money as a gift, on any occasion, and I was always a little dumbfounded seeing other people get money from their family for Christmases and birthdays and graduations, or for good grades, or even allowances, because the concept was so foreign to me, lol.

 

What were the Star Wars ornaments?  Which characters?  Or ships?

That's it! Except I don't put the seeds on top, just inside, so they get softened up a little. Yummy.

Got U2's newest CD, a two-sided puzzle, a shirt that didn't fit, and "The Art of Dr. Strange" which I ordered for myself and is my favorite gift. :d Oh, and a box of spices from my nephew, that was pretty cool.

Do you often cook, or are they more like "decorative spices"?

It's a beautiful book, acres of production art, weighs a ton. I haven't seen much of it yet because everyone keeps stealing it from me. Punks.

 

I'm the chief cook and bottle washer in my little household, and the spices are blends for specific cuisines ... so there's like a taco spice, a fish spice, a green bean spice, etc. So yeah, it'll come in really handy. I'm always looking for a way to make subtle changes to the same old food! Even I tire of garlic after awhile.....

I collect 'making of' art books. I have a whole cabinet full of 'em, and I love them all. 

 

My main present was to have a painting framed that I'd been meaning to get done for ages so I could put it on my kitchen wall. 

 

My most sentimental present was two photo albums my mother put together from old photos of me (with my family) from babyhood to now. She did ones for my brothers too with their baby photos. Must have taken ages.
