Have seen this on Twitter...

... and first what came to my mind was the question:

Did lame start to walk, and the blind to see?

But then I thought it could be too much of my humor for the world outside...

Amen..er Lol.

More impressive if SHERLOCK SPOKE TO US ALL!!!  (sorry my bad)

As for the dog, he or she is very welcome as far as I am concerned. If there have to be more new characters, let them be animals. That's just fine with me.

Maybe the Big Bad in S4 will be a homicidal horse? :P

I loved your synopsis of Silver Blaze. Now I want to read it. If only I had time.... (I supposed I could do that instead of wandering around this forum.... nah.)

Here's the quickie version:

Quicker than Toby's version? :d

The Thoroughbred Of Sin? That would be the weirdest crossover ever :D.

Buckle up, buttercups. Here's a very interesting spoiler.

Yup,that's interesting, all right! Though not as big a deal as it could have been. I would go on, but how the heck does one create a spoiler box on a cellphone??? There are no square brackets in the punctuation menu, and going to Full Version mostly just changes the color scheme ... no editor toolbar.

Oh my god, if this means what I think it means... Nothing is ever going to be normal in that family. Ever. :-D

Aha! I just found another page of punctuation marks! So here goes:

Mary giving birth in a car (presumably on the way to the hospital ... or to a crime scene) isn't as big a deal as it could have been ... seeing as how there were both a doctor and a nurse present.

There now, aren't y'all glad that I found my square brackets? ;)

Two nurses, if you count the patient. ;)

I wasn't counting the real nurse since she is dealing with other things to play nurse to herself.

One odd thing (only one?) ... I don't recall hearing the usual three episode clues this time. Maybe they decided that those tended to cause too much trouble ... or thinking them up was too much work ... or there weren't really any good ones this time ... or ... ?

Do we even know for sure that this is Ep 1 that they're currently filming ... or who wrote which?

We know that Gatiss said a couple of times that he was writing (and had written) the first one. Doesn't mean he actually did, of course. :) Then Moffat was going to do one (the 3rd one, I think?), and they were going to co-write one.

Did they always do the 3-word thing at the beginning of filming? This is my first time through this part (it's fun!), so I don't know. But you'd think they'd wait until the episodes were in the can, wouldn't you? In case one changes direction or something? (Like, did they ever explain the change from "bow" to "vow"?)

Right.  But do we know either a] who wrote the one they're filming, or b] whether they're filming them in order?  (They filmed in reverse order for Series 1.)

They've done the three words for Series 2 and 3, yes.  For Series 2, the clues were so blatant that even a Conan-Doyle neophyte like me knew which original stories they were adapting.  For Series 3, they were less obvious, to say the least.  Anyhow, as I recall, they announced the words before filming began, both times, and I think even before the scripts were completed.

They never actually use the exact Conan Doyle title, so clearly they never intended to use "His Last Bow" as the episode title -- and presumably meant to substitute "Vow" all along.  "Bow" was just the clue, and probably the most helpful one of that crop, since it was fairly clear what original story they had in mind.

This is obviously #1 as the baby is born... unless you seriously think they will  squeeze 2 story lines between the time he gets off the plane and the baby is born.   Let's try to use some logic here.

Wrong link? Nothing SHERLOCK-related there.

Logic is my forte. Just bear in mind that we're talking about the same production company that recently squoze an entire episode into the time between a small airplane coming in for a landing and the people getting out.

Plus, we don't know for sure just how far along Mary is at the end of HLV. So it's logically possible for this to be #1, #2, or #3.

Of course if I had to put money on it, I'd go for #1.

Apparently they're filming at "the Diogenes Club".

"Squoze?" Just what kind of example are you setting around here? :lol5:

A logical example, clearly not a pedantic one

Well, let's see... always have to look at the timeline... and Mary and John got married on May 18.  Sherlock figured out she was already pregnant then.... so let's put her at 2-3 weeks along, so beginning of May.    He shoots Magnussen on Christmas Day.  At least a week later he is being shipped off... and that puts Mary at minimum 8 months + along in her pregnancy.  She is ready to pop.  This is episode #1.
