This is really exciting! Even more curious how they will write this Moriarty aspect now. It would be nice to see some further use of Andrew Scott, even in flashbacks.

That's all fine and dandy, I actually got the relevant article on my TAB application yesterday, but the operative word ( nasty Moftisses, Arcadia and J.P. would say) is "apparent". Hope we are all around to discuss it to bits when it airs and the DVD has gone on the market!

Aha -- a confirmation of the filming date for Series 4!  The interviewer asks, "I read you might be filming Series 4 in April.  Is that the case?"  There's a bit of overlap, but I believe his exact reply is "Yes, it starts in April.  Yes."  I'm certain of that final "yes" in any case.

 

Can someone with better ears than mine please give his answer a listen?

Not officially, no.  They need the BBC's approval for that.  (In fact, I can't think of any television series that gets their network's go-ahead for more than one season at a time.)  But Moftiss and Hartswood do seem to have intentions of at least five seasons.

 

Anyhow, we now have re-confirmation that they're still aiming at an April start for the S4 filming!

I know I've read that Gatiss and Moffat have S5 talked out/plotted out (not written).  So they definitely know where they want to go, and I imagine that once S4 airs and they get the okay for S5, then they will start also talking about S6, etc.  etc.  etc.

Nothing we didn't know already, I'm afraid. Ah well, at least we have the Special to noodle over for awhile.

Yeah, some folks on tumblr were freaking out yesterday over that and I didn't get it.  We've known for some time now that filming isn't until April and we're not getting it until January 2017 at the earliest.

Yes, the endless plethora of rehashed articles on S4 where people haven't done their homework is getting quite boring and annoying.  In fact, production dates are firmly fixed and have been for some time.  The cast have all been assembled for very specific work dates.  It will start in April and will end in July sometime  Sue Vertue said they do an episode in about 25 days.Very fixed dates.  One of the recent articles gave a link to the production schedules in Britain.  Just because we haven't known the exact start dates doesn't mean they don't have the exact start dates scheduled, which they do.
