We shall see, we shall see.  Although seeing his hair today at the rugby match, I have to think it's not quite long enough for Sherlock, so I'm expecting wiglock - unless they make it part of the story that he gets a haircut.  His hair is definitely longer, though.

I wouldn't know about the curls, on which my stance is clear, but in Letters Live, people complained that he had got more muscle mass than is consistent with Sherlock, and I fervently hope that the creators adapt and incorporate the changes, since their hero is supposed to mature as the series develops!

To say nothing of it wreaking havoc with his health to alternately gain and lose weight for roles.

Yeah, I'd honestly be fine with a slightly heavier Sherlock and maybe a modified, shorter curly hairstyle.  I suppose times change and so must we.

And which of you two brave ladies are going to break the news to dear Arcadia, sfmpco and J.P., to name but a few curl-lockers?

Well, I think I qualify as a curl-locker?  I'm not sure if that makes it worse or better?  lol

I suppose there is a chance they still use the wig, but I feel like I read something by Moffat or Gatiss recently about the wig and season 4 that made it seem kinda up in the air as to whether or not they were gonna make him wear it?  Made it sound like BC isn't much a fan of the wig either, although I doubt it's all that comfortable.

Well, the furnishings are coming out of storage, anyhow (that doesn't look like any of the 221B wallpaper in the background!)  But the flat must be ready for the furniture, or they wouldn't have gone to get it, so that's definitely progress.

Maybe Mrs. Hudson redecorated when she thought Sherlock wasn't coming back. ;)

Has anyone seen an actual start date for filming yet?  I know we're a couple weeks from April, and they said April, but when in April?

Last I heard was this:

Sherlock we start filming in... at the end of March, beginning of April. Three more episodes. [....] So we start at the beginning of the April; we'll finish in... end of July, beginning of August, I think.

... but that was over a month ago, and they do sometimes change their schedules.

Well, that's promising!

Promising as in "misleading, misdirecting, misinforming"? Yep, it is!

Well, set assembly is moving right along so it seems they're sticking to that schedule?

Good point.  Studio time is expensive, so if the main set is virtually ready to be filmed, they are presumably virtually ready to start filming.

You know you're obsessed when you get unreasonably excited over a picture of a door.

I never realized it was #17. Did you know there are 17 steps up to #221 in ACD's canon?

The Gower Street location is being prepped...

Sorry, but not really -- that's the way it always looks nowadays.  In answer to J.P.'s question on that twitter page, they used to swap out the entire door, but that got tiresome, so they arranged with the building's owner to leave the Sherlock door in place all the time.  So now all they need to do is swap the house number (which they do on the neighboring doors as well), and they don't do that till the very day of the shoot, since it confuses delivery people.  (See my eyewitness report on the North Gower filming for "Sign of Three.")

It does look like "17" doesn't it?  But it's actually #187.  The "8" just doesn't show up as well as the other two digits.

Took another look, and I see it now. Oh well.

If prior series are anything to go by, it'll be a month or more before they're filming on North Gower.  Sherlock's flat is nearly ready, so the first read-through could come any day now (or at least any week), and then filming would start.  Filming each episode takes a month or a bit more, and they seem to leave North Gower till nearly the last thing, so the first filming there presumably won't be till late April / early May, with the other two following at four-to-six-week intervals.

If you happen to be in London, you can tell when a North Gower shoot is getting close, because they have to post highly visible parking-restriction notices a good while ahead of time (a week or two, apparently).  (See photos on that same thread.)

Well, they snuck Andrew Scott in for TAB, so you might watch all you want and see nothing!  LOL
