As I've said before, I do ship Sherlock & Molly. But I'm also realistic about it. They're not likely to get together anytime soon even though there's always hope for it from the way their parts are written :evilmoff:

What you've said about Molly is very accurate and deep down I think I like the idea of a platonic Sherlock even if I would like to see Sherlock & Molly get together.

Yeah, I don't seriously think it's ever going to happen.  I keep telling myself that so it hopefully eases the disappointment when it doesn't.  lol

Go ahead, Mofftiss... prove me wrong.  ;)

I don't think so exactly... but unless they get rid of her character entirely, there is something more that still needs exploring.

Jenny, what is that from?

I think I found that on one of the countless Sherlock Facebook fan pages.

I will say, and I don't mean this not in any shippy sense, that I really do feel that we missed something between TSOT and where Molly hauls off and slaps Sherlock in HLV.  There's just a level of comfort and familiarity that wasn't there previously.  I don't think Molly pre-HLV would have had that level of comfort and security with her relationship to Sherlock to do that... debates about whether or not she should have slapped him aside.

I dunno if we'll ever get any background there or if their friendship will just look different in series 4?

There is the scene when Sherlock comes to her with the preparation for the stag night.

She confronts Sherlock about what he thinks about her drinking habits. I think it is a sign of a change.

That, plus maybe Sherlock finally went too far -- which emboldened Molly to stand up for his best interests.

Well, I think TEH really played with what could have been, and in TSOT we see her watching him  during the speech with renewed love and admiration as she realized what a dolt Tom was in comparison.  Just nobody measures up to Sherlock in her eyes, which is likely why she and Tom broke it off so soon afterwards.  She is the one who watched him walk out of the reception alone.  And Baker Street Babes did a nice analysis of her where she is considered "all medical knowledge to him" - which is evident in the HLV mind palace scene.  So that's how he categorizes her and respects her.  Notice that he does not consider John all medical knowledge.  And as a side note, he respects Anderson enough to probably think of him as all forensic crime scene knowledge, which is why Anderson helped him in the mind palace and why he called for Anderson in TRF.

Okay, so back to Molly... yes, let's hope that whatever happens in S4 that she and Sherlock have more moments.

Awww, I love that little scene! At least someone appreciates Molly...

I felt so sorry for Lestrade at the wedding in The Sign of Three. Everyone was photographed with their partners, and all he had to hold on to was his beer glass.

Molly and Lestrade wouldn't make such a bad match... Not a bad match at all. I wonder what Sherlock would say if they went out on a date. Something tells me he wouldn't like it.

Oh, I don't know, I think maybe he'd be happy (in a bittersweet sort of way) that Molly found a good man; since he obviously doesn't think of himself as one.

Sherlock obviously didn't think his life means much and what would happen to his friends if he's gone, just see how easy he shot CAM. I don't ship him with Molly because of that and I also don't want to see her get hurt more because of a man who still need to learn the ways of adulthood. I prefer Molly hooked up with someone who can appreciate and nurture a gentle soul. A mature, worldly man.

I could see Sherlock happy and jealous both.  I could also see him trying to subtly sabotage that relationship trying not to ruin either friendship in the process.

Nevertheless, Greg was seated next to Molly (on the side opposite Tom), and they seemed to be chatting together during the pre-dinner social hour -- almost as though she were there with him (instead of with Tom). I see cause for optimism!

I think they would need to establish that Greg got divorced first.

Why? They never establish anything else! :D

I'm sure they would see to that.  He seems to be separated now, at the very least.  So yeah, maybe the writers are waiting for his divorce to become final.

I can't decide if I think Sherlock would care or not.... if he did care about Molly and Lestrade, as in jealousy, then there's hope for Molly-Sherlock.  Because I'm pretty sure Molly would take Sherlock as-is, warts and all.

*snicker* Give Sherlock a major competitor, maybe he finally will think about the future and shape-up.

I do not want to see the episode where Molly ends up with someone else and Sherlock regrets never making a proper move.  Gah!

Sadly, I think this might happen.

There is something else I worry about Molly as well.

Sherlock has gone through a lot of things, learning about friendship, sacrifice, sentiment, but he has not learned about loss of someone yet, forever, in Redbeard way.

It was close with Irene Adler, but eventhough he had the sentiment, it was still 'low-tar' because he didn't know her that well and it was also a fake death. No doubt, she was special to him, and he went nuts as far as Karachi and indirectly made him throwing people out of window.

But he knows Molly, and I think in season 3 they have much closer relationship and know each other very well. I believe Sherlock is very fond of her and appreciate her much more than previous season.

I have very strong feeling that they might go to this direction, that Sherlock is going to lose someone.

If he has to lose someone close, someone important, someone 'dispensable' to the story line, it's Molly.

I hope, Mary will be that someone instead of Molly. But Mary is John's sadness, Molly is Sherlock's.
