Yup, I'm convinced he's reading or relaying something.

We don't send family photo Christmas cards here, but if we did that one would be a winner. ;)

Love the family portrait, don't mind the name...what the heck is wrong with Rosamund Pike?!

But come on?  The snow was ok, but the vandalism of the pictures at the top is criminal!

Nothing's wrong with the actress IMO.

I have to disagree with you, the picture is hilarious

Edit I just found this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2017/02/sherlock

Well THAT'S incredibly useful

There is a nice take on that family photo at the other forum :D

You mean post #1526 on page 77 that made Lautrela's day? For some reason, the illustration will neither pan to the right nor "squeeze" to smallify on my cellphone -- so all I get is part of Mary's (?) back. Could someone post a copy here or else describe what it shows? Pretty please?

I don't think you should try to make too much sense out of the red herring narrative the trailer is spinning.  You should all know better than that by now.   :P

I will say that when I saw the house burning that I was immediately reminded of the house burning at the end of Skyfall.

And I was immediately reminded of FullMetal Alchemist.

What kind of name is that?

A very feminine one? XD

Personally, my first impression was that it was part of another sentence, carefully cropped to make us crazy.  So, I'm half expecting Sherlock to be looking at some piece of evidence and saying, "The most incriminating thing someone can say is...'I love you.'"

Now that you've put the thought in my head, I'm half expecting it too.

Weird picture...

Suddenly feel really sorry for that baby, not only are her parents murderers but here they actually look like murderers

Yes ma'am. Just remember, they have a strong "Mary is evil" contingent over there! :D But even I found this one pretty funny.

They look like a less funny version of the Adams Family! But all the promo pics have been like that. Awful. At least in the trailer / teasers, the characters look like themselves.

So there will finally be a real Mary Watson! That's nice.

I've had an orange blanket on my ebay watch list for a long time... probably time to order it.

There's nothing wrong with Rosamund Pike, can't say I have an opinion about her one way or the other really.

It was pointed out elsewhere that Mary looks like she's raided Sherlock's wardrobe

And Magnussen's all-teeth smile! Had a look at the other forum and can totally believe that piece of fan art! Mary Dear really looks like a shark in this one!

I hope there's actually fun in these new episodes and it's not just all doom and gloom. I know they said there are funny bits but I hope it's balanced enough that it's actually enjoyable to watch.

Re: "I love you," I have this weird idea that Sherlock's talking to Mary. I guess we'll see in about three weeks.

Thanks for the full illustration, Arcadia. That is funny in a sick sort of way. It's also one more reason why I'm glad I opted for this forum.

That's why I opted for this one! ;)

It's just occurred to me that the dark, blue-black backdrop they've been using for the promo shots looks an awful lot like the walls of that room/prison where Sherlock says "I love you." Whatever that portends.

What shall we suppose that Mary dressed up like a mini Sherlock means? She's Sherrinford? I think I doth detect some very serious jerking of our chains. Moftiss must be holding their sides and crying with laughter right about now. :D

It's clearly a sign her and Sherlock are having a passionate, lustful affair, and when John dropped by Baker Street unexpectedly she had to grab the closest thing to hand to dress in, which happened to be Sherlock's suit jacket. ;)

And said jacket miraculously shrank down to her size as it settled around her shoulders. Uh huh. <_<

Mary's always been one of my contenders for Sherrinford...but yes, we'll soon know!

Nope! No way, no how! If Mary were Sherrinford in any guise, he would not have needed to deduce her in TEH nor say in HLV that her accent is currently English but he suspects she's not! We are all Sherlockians and logic must always come first, blast it!

That jacket looks huge to me

Just like Sherlock's coat miraculously shrank down to look not quite so ridiculous on Irene, yes. He clearly has a magic wardrobe for just such moments.

And the sight of the woman he loved wrapped up in the suit coat of the man he loves was too much for John, and he went flying at them, and a threesome ensued.... :D

But that doesn't necessarily hold if Mary is only a half sibling sprung from an affair that Daddy Holmes had.  (You know that silver fox had game when he was younger.)  If she were raised in America, she could have been unknown to Sherlock and had the last name of "Sherrinford."  Everyone keeps talking about the third *brother,* but we have no indication of that.  We have Mycroft referring to "the other one," and we have a photo AA tweeted with Gatiss, Hiddleston, and herself, labeled "blud."

Sherlock has such incredible power over women that even his clothing is accommodating!  I tell you, the man has a sexual past that Mycroft knows nothing about.
